People may tell you that (tm) stands for trademark. This is bullshit. In reality, TM(tm)stands for Totalarian Monkeys, the manipulative higher government working behind the scenes in a country known as I'm-a-richa (natives pronounce it uh-MEHR-ih-kuh). ™ is what stands for trademark. In order to successfully manifest themselves in as subtle a manner as possible, the Totalarian Monkeys decided to brand everyone with their mark to show that they OWNED everything ('tm' also stands for "the mark"). But they didn't stop there. Oh, no. You will often find the dread mark on anything from Star Wars toys to Microsofttm. If one forgets to put The Mark when mentioning the idea, product, or corporation in writing, that person is doomed to suffer in the hands of the TM and die and die and rot in hell. Which is why America is such a mess---all those rotting corpses just lying around.

Before the Coal Mine Wars, 'tm' stood for "Tufted Milk!" This was actually a phrase coined in the late 1800's used when you caught a neighbor having carnal relations with your Llama. This phrase became obsolete in 1932 when the scientific community pronounced that God was dead. That meant that llamas in fact could not exist (considering that they are part three of the trinity), so people stopped believing in them and turned towards Hollywood instead.
People began saying 'tm' as an acronym for The Matrix after it was discovered by Dick Cheney in 2002.
In the future, 'tm' may turn out to mean telekinetically modified, after the idea of 'gm', or 'genetically modified', has become an ex-parrot. We just don't know.
