10,000 Gays (Left In America) is the fifth full-length studio album by Tool, released in 2011. Clocking in at 81:03, it is the longest and most progressive Tool album ever made. Time signatures previously thought physically impossible are employed, such as the legendary 13/37 and the bizarre 66/6. Often different members play these time signatures simultaneously, with remarkable composition that allows for a free-flowing, pleasant yet harsh soundscape. The drumming on first single, Hallucinogenic Oyster Bitch, is loosely based on a drug-induced experience at a seafood restaurant that drummer Danny Carey had. There are 9002 different time signatures used in the song, and as many as 46 and 2 are used at the same time. The album has a manifest politically-motivated gay rights theme. However, a more latent theme, deep below the surface, is the flooding of much of the United States that occurred a year ago. A song that specifically deals with this is Aenimation (semenflux). Another aspect that has significantly progressed is Maynard's vocal style, which now features very fast-paced rapping during some segments of the songs.

In truth, the whole album flows as one piece. A unique aspect of the album is that there is a secret album inside the actual album. Each song of this secret album has movements not entirely in order, and parts of different songs of this secret album play simultaneously with the actual album (with incredible composition that makes this sound flawless). One must be a true master of sound editing software to extract the secret album and put it all in the right order. When this secret album is slowed down to 1/23 as fast, it is revealed that the album is really just the band members reciting the exact date of the end of the world to the millisecond. Yet, on the surface, it seems like a normal second album with themes of chipmunks and pool parties. That's how complex this masterpiece is. However, many fans were disappointed with both albums because their minds were two slow to comprehend all the intense time changes and polyrhythems that require a brain that can measure rhythm down to the millisecond. Whenever Tool plays this album live, usually only one person in the audience is smart enough to survive the whole show. This way, Tool kills off their audiences so that there is eventually only one Tool fan in each general area. They plan to release a new album in 2016 with mind control capabilities that will force all surviving fans to move to one tool shed, which will then be the only place Tool will ever play. They want to do this so that they don't have to tour as much, and so that they have a smarter fan base.
