30 Roc
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
30 Roc was an ill-conceived television series in which several of the actors were rocs - enormous birds of prey reported to have carried off elephants. In the pilot episode, the variety show "The Girlie Show" is failing, arguably because its gentle, gynocentric sketch comedy is incompatible with the fact that its lead actress is a forty-foot tall, screeching, man-eating raptor. In order to boost their sagging ratings, the producers take the radical step of hiring a black man, which leads to hilarious shenanigans, since everyone knows that rocs and black men are mortal enemies (you know, sort of like dogs and monkeys).
The show was canceled after one of the rocs converted guest star Tina Fey into something resembling the world's largest owl pellet.
[edit] Important Facts. This isn't trivia. Trivia sections are discouraged, and this is clearly labeled "Important Facts."
30 Roc ran for a brief three episodes.
Episode One, "Pilot," introduced Bill Cosby as a zany, clinically insane rapper whose inclusion into "The Girlie Show" ruffles the feathers (literally!) of the fifteen ton "Princess," a comedic actress whose beak could tear through steel armor and rend bone. It featured a controversial love scene between Cosby and Princess, considered the first human-roc sex scene ever attempted on screen. Sadly, Cosby did not survive the filming, and was subsequently replaced by Tracy Morgan, a caucasian actor who appeared in blackface.
Episode Two, "The Aftermath," dealt with the zany antics of Tracy as his insanity clashes with the style of "The Girlie Show." The dilemma is finally resolved in an hilarious fashion when Princess devours the entire cast and regurgitates their corpses to her hatchlings living atop her cliff nest lined with human skulls.
Facing flagging ratings, producers decided that Episode Three, "Hey, Look, we got Tina Fey," would feature Tina Fey as a guest star. Sadly, Fey did not hit it off with her co-stars, and was savagely torn to shreds during post-production. Even if she hadn't been dismembered, critics feel that her performance probably would have alienated most viewers of the show. Guest star status in the program was like being crowned Queen of the Mole People.
[edit] Cast and Characters
Along with Princess, the cast included Billy, the out-of-control roc who was the "Bad Boy" in the show. I think Matthew Perry was also in it? Actually I dont really know, as I never watched the show, and probably never will. But according to this one guy's website that I found, Hugo Chavis played Dave, as the kookie transvestite and intimidating head writer/producer who constantly was threatening workers with "Teabaggings", while Vladimir Putin played Sam, the Hobbit-obsessed male companion of Frodo in the sketch comedy "I want to finger your ring."
[edit] Cancellation (or: "Was It Ever An Issue?")
The show was canceled after the poor reception of the third episode, combined with the fact that the producers had begun to question whether having humans work with rocs was all that good an idea, as it had caused some of their insurance premiums to rise. Eventually, producers made the controversial decision to release the rocs from their contracts. This led both to their untimely deaths and to a considerable decrease in viewer popularity polling before the release of the fourth episode, and thus, the show was canceled. Not unlike this article.
