[edit] About The A.A.S.

The A.A.S. (Anti-Acronym Society), established in February 2007, represents a collection of like-minded individuals who believe the T.L.A. (Three Letter Acronym) is a V.S.T. (Very Silly Thing). This is not least due to the nature of K.W.A.S.T.U.M. (One must Know What Acronym Says To Understand Meaning, which is an E.T.L.A, or Extended Three Letter Acronym). The K.W.A.S.T.U.M. nature of T.L.A.s thus makes them a V.S.T. when attempting to communicate what could otherwise be a V.S.F.C. (Very Straight-Forward Concept). And if what is being taught to you contains plenty of T.L.A.s and is also a very complicated topic in itself, the C.M.E. (Confusion Multiplier Effect) occurs. The C.M.E. is a C.U.F. (Completely Unnecessary Factor) in our every day lives, and would easily be avoided if it were not for T.L.A.s, which are most typically created by E.L.A.s (Extremely Lazy Academics) or L.B.P.C.I.s (Lazy But Powerful Commercial Institutions) for the purpose of communicating with V.I.P.s (Very Important People) in such a way that they can get back to their golf course A.S.A.P.(As Soon As Possible) Alas both these categories can do what the hell they want, because they consider themselves far above the average man or woman, and enjoy imposing the C.M.E. upon us, whilst ourselves being powerless to resist. Thus an Acronym’s K.W.A.S.T.U.M. nature, caused by E.L.A.s and L.B.P.C.I.s, result in the C.M.E. (a V.S.T., and to an extent a V.S.F.C, but nevertheless a C.U.F.), and forced the birth of the A.A.S. who hopes to prevent the situation from becoming even more F.U.B.A.R. (Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition) than it already is.

[edit] Origin of The A.A.S.

Little is known about the founder of the A.A.S., other than that he is also a dedicated member of the A.O.H.S. (Art Of Hypocrisy Society). His more specific intentions on creating the A.A.S. remain somewhat unclear, but it is generally accepted that the society is created to raise awareness on the “Very Silly Nature” of Acronyms, and hence perhaps provoke industries and the like into thinking twice before shortening terms. However, some experts believe the Society may only induce the opposite effect.
