Aeris Gainsborough Murder Trial
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
“I don't care if this man was trying to summon a Meteor to bring Doomsday to us all. He can do that all he wants. The important thing is that he killed her, and justice needs to be done for that.”
~ Jack McCoy on People of the City of Midgar v. Sephiroth
“Rampant nihilism isn't to blame here. The true motives here are the murder simulators known as Video Games!”
~ Jack Thompson on People of the City of Midgar v. Sephiroth
“I've killed Dr Erhardt and TV's Frank heaps of times, and no-one has cared. Sephiroth kills Aeris once, and everyone mourns. WHY AM I NOT IMPORTANT?!”
~ Dr Clayton Forrester on Aeris's Murder
Responding to an anonymous tip of a murder at Corral Valley, Midgar authorities found a trail of blood leading to a Life Stream pool, the body of a young woman in the pool, and multiple sets of foot prints.

Upon reviewing cut scenes (much like security tapes) of the area, investigators found that there were at least five individuals at the scene of the crime. It was conclusive that Sephiroth had murdered Aeris Gainsborough, and that Cloud Strife had failed to perform first aid and attempted to hide the body in the pool. Tifa Lockhart and Mr. T were also brought in for questioning. When authorities tried to apprehend Cloud, he fled on his motorcycle and led them on a high speed highway chase, which ended when he took a wrong turn and ran out of road. The pursuers were found dead; these deaths have still not been explained. [1]

[edit] Cloud's Trial
Lawyer: Phoenix Wright. Prosecutor: Miles Edgeworth. The prosecution brought charges of wrongful death, criminal negligence, interfering in an investigation, and evading the law against Cloud. There have also been claims that Cloud attempted to kill Aeris once even before the crime took place, but was talked away from it by other persons at the scene. Cloud's plea was not-guilty. Cloud's defence argued that a death outside of battle is quite different from a death in battle. They stated that sometimes even if one were to fall in battle, one may regain consciousness once the battle had ended, albeit in critical condition. The defence claimed that falling in battle as being merely "knocked out" and recoverable by items or a stay in an inn, while falling outside of battle is permanent. Cloud was found not-guilty of Aeris' death, but guilty of disturbing the scene and evasion.
[edit] Sephiroth's Trial
“We knew he was a bad egg. Me and Bowser kept telling him. We'd tell him "that's not how we play. Sure you can kidnap a person, set them in a death trap, harness their lifeforce for your magic spell, or whatever, but it's all in fun. Nobody is supposed to get hurt. He just never got it or maybe he didn't care. He was a sick puppy. Me and the gang, we just feel really horrible about the whole thing. If we had just stood up and told him he wasn't allowed to be a villain anymore, then maybe Aeris would still be alive today.”
~ Ganondorf's testimony at the trial
Charged with the murder of Aeris Gainsborough, Sephiroth hired top Shin-Ra lawyers for his defense. Sephiroth's plea was "not-guity by reasons of being sexy enough to get away with it, despite undeniable evidence that he had killed Aeris with his Masamune. Her blood was not found on the Masamune, but prosecution claimed that Sephiroth may have cleaned the sword before he was apprehended. Sephiroth was acquitted of all charges due to Cloud's interference.
Despite being found "not guilty" of Aeris's murder, Sephiroth was found "responsible" for her death and was brought to trial again on civil (monetary) charges. However during the course of this trial, he was deemed to be mentally incompetent and was to be taken into the custody of the Shinra Home for the Criminally Insane where he met his special friend Bubba "King" Hippo. Sephiroth was found dead three days later from what can only be described as "a cut with an explosion in the middle" (fellow inmate "Selphie"). Currently, there is only one suspect: Squall "Leon" Leonhart. He allegedly attacked Sephiroth for "being a douche" and "cramping my style." When asked about this further, Mr. Leonhart backhanded the reporter, who instantly fell in love with him.
[edit] After the Occurance
The case of Aeris' murder has still yet to be solved. Cloud Strife and Sephiroth remain the biggest suspects, but many people have blamed others, citing that Sephiroth was too mentally unbalanced to plan her death. Further statements point to Sephiroth having been manipulated by one or more individuals into killing Aeris. The following is the list of the most likely suspects.
Tifa Lockheart: Aeris was her rival for Cloud's affections. Further investigations proved that she was acquainted with Sephiroth and may have helped him fake his own death during the famed Nibelheim incident.
Yuffie Kisaragi: Aeris was her rival for Cloud's affections. She's also been linked to various ninja related crimes and grand theft materia, however due to diplomatic reasons, she's never been brought to trial.
Aerith Gainsborough: Aeris's twin sister and rival for Cloud's affections. Aeris and Aerith often passed themselves off as each other in a variety of scams and illegal activites. Since the death of Aeris, Aerith has denied the very existence of her sister.
Hojo: Sephiroth's biological father and in no way a rival for Cloud's affections. It's believed he still holds a grudge against Aeris for alerting the authorities to his beastiality pornography ring. Another point of suspicion is the fact that he was responsible for the death of Aeris' father.
Mr. T (AKA "Barret Wallace"): Everyone knows that this man is also a rival to Aeris, Aerith, Yuffie, and Tifa in the attempts to gain Clouds love. Mr. T, a known terrorist, is still at large, and is considered heavily armed and extremely dangerous. If you see him, do not attempt to apprehend him, do not attempt escape, and above all do not attempt to hire him.
Jenova: A mysterious sound recording of a woman uttering the mysterious sentence "BEACAUSE you are a puppet" only minutes after Aeris' death has been discovered recently by necrophiliacs searching for Aeris' dead body. This sparked new investigations, and results show that there might have been another individual at the crime scene. It is speculated that this individual may also have been hurt, as there are signs of a struggle.
Vincent Valentine: Due to Vincent's role as an "optional" character in Final Fantasy VII, When Vincent took the stand, he answered each question with a series of "I don't know"-s and "Maybe"-s and without showing any sympathy for the victim or her family and friends. When leaving the stand, Vincent exploded and let loose a harsh rant filled with obscene language, body gestures, and racial slurs. Shortly after, Vincent held a press conference apologizing and put out this statement.
| Look, you've got to understand. I'm an optional character. I MAY have been there when she was killed, or maybe I wasn't. This is the way RPGs work. I'm sorry I cannot be of any help to the case. |
At least one witness reports seeing a famous pilot/astronaut and a large red lion near the crime scene, but this was discounted as the witness was a robotic cat, and was therefore inherently untrustworthy.
