The success of the bid could have serious political ramifications as recent research revealed Baroque to be the great great grandfather of Vice President
Dick Cheney. This means if Obama is unable to collect enough change to return to his time, Cheney will fade away and a key part of the Bush administration will never have existed.
There are fears Cheney may fade completely.
During his quest for change, Baroque encountered a nemesis in 2008 presidential candidate Hilary Clinton. Above all else, she desires the control and presidency of the United States of America: a goal which may only be realised if Cheney and the Bush administration fade due to Baroque's chrono-displacement. As such, she cannot allow Baroque to accrue the change he needs to return to his time period and she relentlessly campaigns against those who would pledge their coins to him.
