[edit] History

[edit] Formation and early history

On June 4, 1997, Daren's father, Joseph, died of buttock cancer, Daren was mortified and went into a state of shock and isolation for 4 months, this ended when his brother finally persuaded him to come down to the local bar to have some drinks with him.

Upon arriving at the bar and realising it was Karaoke night, Daren suddenly felt the urge to go and sing. He preformed Dwight Yoakam's "Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc.", upon finishing the song he received a thunderous applause...and that was when he realised 2 things...Fisrtly, he could sing well, but second and most importantly, when he sang, all of the pain over his father's death seemed to wash away. After leaving the bar later that night, he told Gary of his idea to start a band. Gary said the idea was cool and asked if he could be the drummer, Daren said yes.

Daren and Gary spent months looking for other band members, they put up advertisements and band member wannabees came from all over Belka, Osea, Ustio and Sapin, however they just weren't good enough by Daren and Gary's standards. By early March 1998, Daren had just about given up on creating a band, but then Brock Farley, Brent Hurst and Brandon Kirk (3 very talented musicians whom Daren was good friends with but had not seen since High School) appeared, and after hearing them, Daren decided that his band was completed.

[edit] Deciding on a name

There were many ideas for the band's name thrown around, after 6 weeks it was narrowed down to 2 names, "Lords of the Underworld", or "Bloodlust". Upon a further 4 weeks of decision, the group decided to go with Bloodlust.

[edit] Rise to popularity

After being recognised as a potential success by a representative from Unsmark Records(one of the biggest record labels in Belka) on May 15, they were invited to record a song at one of their recording studios. At the studio they record their smash hit, "Vomit is pouring from my eye socket",following the song's release, it amazingly shot to the No. 1 spot in the Belkan charts, from there it began to climb up the charts in Osea, Sapin, Yuktobania, San Salvacion, The Republic of Amber and Erusea. The band had become a phenomenon in a very short space of time, 3 weeks after the release of Vomit is pouring from my eye socket, they signed an official contract with Unsmark Records and began work on their first album. Bloodlust had officially become a band.

[edit] Commercial success

Bloodlust's first album, "Life is an illusion" was released on June 6 1998, and practically became an overnight success, with sales figures in Belka coming very close to matching the sales figures of much The Beatles's music.

Shortly after the release of Life is an illusion, Bloodlust announced their intention to go on tour through Belka, Osea, Sapin, Yuktobania, the Anea Continent, the Mandavia Continent, the Usea Continent and through certain countries in Europe. Tickets to the respective venues on the tour went on sale 3 days after the announcement, and were sold out 4 days after that. Following the conclusion of the tour on September 16, it was obvious the band had become an International success.

[edit] Controversy

Europe and the USA have stated that they dislike the band due to nature of they're music, its explicit content and the band's lack of stage conduct, this was brought to light during a gig in Moscow in 2001, where Daren set fire to a living pig and ate it. The Nations of Europe were disgusted by this and have since band Bloodlust from touring in Europe, The USA imposed a ban of its own for the same reason. This has outraged many of Bloodlust's American and European fans.

[edit] Up coming events and plans for the future

Bloodlust are currently preparing for their up coming tour of Europe, which they intend to go through with in spite of the ban, it will be known as, "The European tour that has been banned throughout Europe."

They will be preforming the Belkan National Anthem as part of the opening ceremony of the 2016 Olympics, which Belka will be hosting.
