“By what right have you written this article poking fun at me? And where's my body gone?!”
~ Charles I
Charles I, as the name implies, was the first Charles action figure to have been imported to Britain. Its main selling point was that all its body parts, including the head, were detachable. Charles I was a craze of epic proportion when he was imported into the Britain, from China, by the hugely successful company Bandai.
Charles I was quickly followed by less successful 'Charles II' , 'Charles III' , and 'Battle armour Charles'. Out of all the three that were imported, Charles I was the most successful in terms of profits.

[edit] Charles I functions
In many aspects, Charles I was very similar to 'Action Man' He came with an array of weapons, some of which could be bought separately. For example, you could buy a horse, with real moving legs that move when you clap, which Charles could sit on and pretend to go to war. Charles was fitted with real working arms that moved up and down when you pressed a button on his back, and his hand could fit in most of the official toys that you could buy.
[edit] Parliament
Charles' arch nemesis was Parliament, who was considerably more expensive than the Charles action figure, but, in turn, came with more functions; for example, if it saw the Charles action figure, it would automatically steals his money.
[edit] The anime
It was just a matter of time before the 'Charles, defender of the universe' anime was released, and it was done so around the same time Charles II was being exported.
The anime followed Charles on his adventures saving the universe from parliament. However, surprisingly for some, the show was cancelled due to monetary problems, around the time 'Battle suit Charles' was released in Japan. The show came to an end with Charles being beheaded.
Charles I was married to Sharon Osbourne.
[edit] Battle suit Charles
Battle suit Charles was a huge flop. Retailed at £740, the majority of people worldwide found it too expensive. 4 people bough the toy on it's first month of sale; The designer's son and the designer himself.
