A wonderful piece of shit.

~ Oscar Wilde on The Chuckle Brothers

Chucklevision:The Red Light District was a groundbreaking Emmy, Bafta and Academy Award winning film. It was deemed by many critics as the 'shittest but greatest film of all time'. The film starred the famous children's double act Paul and Barry Chuckle with cameo appearances from such stars like Michael Douglas, David Beckham and Martin Brundle (close family friend).

The plot is still to this day unknown, which makes it totally unique. Despite this it was filled with incredible action scenes and memorable comic moments. One scene involved Barry incredibly jumping on the back of Big Bird who then flew away taking Barry to Tescos to do his weekly shopping. The scene was voted by Channel 4 viewers as the greatest cinema moment in 100 Greatest Cinema Moments defeating the likes of Carry On's high school massacre scene to top spot. The film also included a graphic level crossing train crash in which Paul somewhat deliberately drove onto the middle of the rail tracks 'just to see what would happen'.

[edit] Controversy

Despite the worldwide success, the film was banned in several countries, most of which were Islamic states. Producers had alreasy planned not to release it in these countries as the film contained a scene in which Barry threatned to blow himself up 'like your everyday Muslim'. This comment alone gained the film an 18 cetificate. It also caused uproar in America after a Paul and Barry duet song called 'Americans are thick, fat twats' almost led to the banning of the movie in the states.

[edit] Comments

In an interview with Jonathan Ross Paul and Barry commented that the film was 'everything we wanted to do in the TV series which we couldn't do!' Asked on why this was Paul responded saying 'well you tell me what's wrong with lezzer on lezzer action in a children's programme! And why we couldn't say our intended catchphrase of 'cuntington bastard' I will never know!' This is what the films got which the TV series couldn't! It's fucking unique!'
