Although this image was often cited as proof that El Fary and Günther Netzer are indeed two different persons, it was recently discovered through the help of the newly invented Google that the picture is a bad fake.

El Fary (born 1871 in Alalala, Spain), winner of the 1925 Edition of Spainish Idol (Operación Triunfo) is a gipsy musician who just won't die. That's probably because he doesn't exist. Rumanian scientists claim to have empiric proof that, indeed, El Fary is no one else than German third-league soccer player and occasional media celebrity Günther Netzer. The scientists cite as foundation for their allegiations mainly visual correlations, as well as their common interest in plateau shoes and false teeth.
