eV? Sounds like an ex-girlfriend I used to have. Used to have.

~ O.J. Simpson on eV

The electron volt (eV) is a temperamental unit of energy, usually closely associated with Kelvin. More recent estimates of this compact relationship have shed light on what scientists are referring to as 'hidden relationships'.

[edit] History

In the months prior to the grease fire of 1812 eV maintained its independence from the other physical units, especially Kelvin, who up until that point in time had many undefined relationships in the past. However, during the grease fire, eV became disillusioned with the current system of units, leading to the cause of the fire. Consequently, eV became closely involved with Kelvin, ignoring the requests of Joule and Volt to avoid getting "hot and heavy".

Unfortunately, to the dismay of Joule and Volt, once the Einstein relationship unifying energy and mass (1912) became published, eV took new charge of her "hot and heavy" relationship with Kelvin.

Insatiated with her lacklustre partner, eV began these 'hidden relationships' with other units. Newton and Pound had short flings with eV, but were unable to continue any form of long term relationship, citing "conversion factor problems" in recent press releases.

The current state of eV's relationships is unknown at the present date. However, it is known that Kelvin wants eV back sometime in the near future.

[edit] Relationships

The known relationships that eV has had with other units is outlined below:

  • Big Bang - 1812
    • Single.
  • 1812 - 1912
    • Kelvin (Exclusive)
  • 1912 - Present
    • Newton (Short-term)
    • Pound (Short-term)
    • Kelvin (Long-term, but currently seperated)
    • Joule (We were drunk, it was only once ...)
