Family Circus
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
Family Circus may very well be the greatest comic strip of all time. The sophisticated wordplay is a wonderful source of golden puns, while at the same time brilliantly portraying the charming innocence of the American nuclear family. I have upwards of twenty kids myself. I just like kids. No, I mean I really like kids.

[edit] History
Family Circus is written by Bil Keane, who is a god-fearing Catholic and my personal hero. It was originally called The Family Circle, in reference to the charmingly original border used with each and every strip. I, personally, think that that pun is hilarious, and have no idea why Keane changed it. In fact, everything about the strip is hilarious, as seen in the thumbnails bordering this page. Honestly, it doesn't really have any history nearly as relevant to this article as the fact that it kicks backside.
[edit] Christian Themes
[edit] Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a major theme in Family Circus. For instance, the children have commited at least three sins over the course of the strip, but are forgiven by their parents, and by God, because they're just so cute!
[edit] Ghosts
See "Grandma"
[edit] Billy running all over the damn place
What a cute little boy he is!
[edit] Characters
Family Circus has many interesting and wholly original characters, from the quirky dad, to the responsible mom, to the wise grandma.
[edit] Billy
Billy has blonde hair, and welcomes you wholeheartedly to the Family Circus website. He is also quite skilled in the field of addition.
[edit] Dolly
A little red-haired girl in a dress.
[edit] Jeffy
Billy, but with red hair.
[edit] PJ
The baby, and my favorite character. He is so cute! (note:in case you were wondering, his name derives from his constantly wearing pajamas.)
[edit] Parents
Named Bill and Thelma, they are based loosely on Bil Keane and his wife, Thelma.
[edit] Grandma
Bill's mother. Her real name is Florence, but everyone calls her Grandma. She is incredibly wise. She also happens to be a ghost. ...Not the spooky kind of ghost that creeps around your house and misplaces your keys, the GOOD kind that watches over her grandchildren. She watches over them with her ghostly binoculars through their bedroom windows at night, just like a good Christian ghost should.
[edit] Filthy Ripoff Smut
Some people have decided that it would be funny to make fun of Family Circus by replacing the wholesome and hilarious captions lovingly attached to each cartoon with obscene, disgusting, and downright unfunny filth. Just look at these captions, and you'll see what's wrong with society today.
