GTFO was created in Ancient Egyptian times by peasant rebels. Usually standing for "Get the Pharaoh out." Which was ironic, since pharaoh is spelt with a 'p' and Egyptians had no knowledge of the English language. Thier marches inspired many travelers and the abbreviation quickly spread across the globe. However, through lack of use, the phrase began to die out, and by the late 19th century, had become completely obsolete, mainly due to lack of pharaohs. However, thanks to the Vietnam war between 1959 and 1975, the phrase had been reborn. 'GTFO' was the main headline in the "Vietnews" paper, standing for "Guerrilla's Topple Foreign Oppressors" The headline inspired many travelers and the abbreviation quickly spread across the globe.
