You grab the rabid vole holding the nape of its neck between your thumb and index finger. You are about to bite its head cleanly off (the only known way to neutralize the toxicity of a rabid animal) and you notice the foam in its a mouth contains some sort of thin opaque strip.

You investigate and find out the vole is not rabid. The vole had been addicted to chewing coffee grounds found in the garbage cans behind the Starbucks across the street from St. Vincent's Hospital in Greenwich Village. Due to a troublesome nuclear stress test the vole was advised to quit coffee and to lay off the clove cigarettes as well. This all happened back in October 2004 and now that the vole had kicked his habits he was using Crest Whitening Strips morning and night to rehabilitate his stained teeth.

This is strange as you suspect your Brazilian ex-girlfriend Ninota who has dumped you for an Orthodontist from Roslyn was trying to tell you something important when she took up collecting wind-up teeth and brushing them every night with peroxide and baking soda.

You and the vole become friends and you start drinking more Smart Water.

In the year that passes since becoming friends, you've grown ever closer. The vole, however, eventually dies of old age, long before you do. One afternoon, after the funeral, you hear a pattering sound on your roof.

Clunk

(Somewhere in here, you find a shotgun.)

Whirling around and aiming your shotgun at the North window, you see a brightly coloured outline. Could it be a Clinja? The windows make more noises, and now the roof above too.

Clunk

SQEEEE-YEEBA-YEEBA

There is no doubt. It must be a Clinja. You have to do something, quickly.

[edit] What do you do?
