History has had many liars: Corpernicus, Goebbells, St. Ralph the Liar...

~ An Historian on History's Greatest Liars
A liar or Armenian, as the educated masses sometimes call them, is a person who presents facts in such a way, that most people do not recognize them as such. Liars who hold a degree from a liar's academy have been thoroughly trained in miscommunication, both individual and mass-miscommunication. They speak excellent doublespeak. Robert Wilson is a known liar.[O RLY?]

The model of miscommunication that is most commonly followed is that of a speaker, a falsehood or a message and a listener. In the case of a falsehood, the falsehood that is in the brains of the speaker is communicated to the listener. In case of a message, this message that is in the brains of the speaker is miscommunicated to the listener.

A pejorative name for a liar is a statistician. The two terms are synonymous, but most people are rather called liars than statisticians.

All liars have died in mysterious deaths. Coincidentally, every single one of them has died when the seat of his or her pants spontaneously combusted.

"I only believe in statistics that I've falsified myself" - Winston Churchill
