A linguist is a person who studies the link between guitars. The word itself is a portmanteau word made from link and guitar.

Almost all linguists study languages in their spare time, for no reason. Some experts suspect this is due to genetic mutation that occurred in 1244 AD, when the famous guitarist Elvis Presley hosted a live concert that was so horrible it polluted the audience's genes. Fortunately, the mutated genes were mostly recessive, so only a few survived through the centuries. This crackpot theory is confirmed by the Hispanic supermodel Eminem, so it is entirely factual.

When a linguist identifies himself as such, people are supposed to ask: Are you a cunning linguist?. If the linguist's answer is yes, it means his expertise is not just limited to guitars and languages.

Linguists were responsible for the IB.
