The company was originally formed because The CEO of the company one day realised that Japan still didn't have its own Enron, and didn't want to be discluded from the sort of excitement that was experienced in the rest of the world, such as the UK with the South Sea company, and the US with the previously mentioned Enron. Since that time, the only direction for the stock price has been up; A successive series of popularly high quarterly earnings made it the investment of choice for all investors too stupid to wake up and smell the inevitable.

The company chairman Takafumi Horie (AKA Horiemon - see Pokemon) attributes the success of the company to the way in which it has distinctly set itself apart, by mimicking the financial reports of Google, and playing with the underlying stock in such a way that the money starts making itself thus creating one of the greatest artificial stock bubbles known to man.
