MSNopoly was invented by Steve Ballmer during his nerveous breakdown, while throwing chairs. It was somehow inspired from the chair that flew across the room, during the Yahoo! problem.

[edit] Gameplay
For all we know Microsoft, the game is most obviously stolen off Monopoly, yet Microsoft claims the reverse. This is claimed thanks to the slightly different rules in the game.
[edit] Money
Unlike Monopoly, there is no money in MSNopoly, instead there are Popularity Points (PP). These are based on how many contacts the player has. The other players can also be added to the user's contact list, if another player passes across one of your chat history files.
[edit] Real estates
Instead of real estates, the game features Chat files, which are chatroom history files. As you "start a conversation" by buying a chatfile, you own that piece of "real estate", and anyone who comes across the file, must pay you an amount of PP, just like in Monopoly.
[edit] Other tiles
MSNopoly features brand new tiles, such as the two tiles, net-molesters and e-mail spammers. The luck and chance tiles are replaced with LOL and ROTFL tiles. Jail is replaced with banning (just visiting is replaced with Log Out) and free parking is replaced with something else.
