Mirtha Legrand (born Rosa María Juana Martínez Suárez in 1899, cryogenically frozen circa 1993) is an Argentine sentient reptile and TV show host. Her live lunches with politicians, actors and gang leaders have been famous in Argentina and abroad since the dawn of television. Always well-dressed and composed, Legrand treats her guests with utmost respect and never interrupts them all the time while they're trying to speak, but she is however often criticized for her extreme left-wing ideology and her contempt for the upper-class society of Buenos Aires.

Legrand had a Siamese twin called Silvia who was joined to her by the navel. Tired of seeing Silvia's face all the time, the then-teenager severed the tie using a Ginsu knife, gutting Silvia in the process. She had to flee justice for this sororicide, so she changed her name to Mirtha, which means "Innocent Bird" in Ionic Greek. She sought shelter in a cave full of snakes near her adopted town Rosario, from where she emerged a week later amid a sickly green light, having turned into a lizard-like being. Despite her appearance, she obtained a part in a porn movie, where she met the love of her life, the producer Marcelo Tinelli. Tinelli disguised Legrand's reptilian features with makeup, and made her his wife. Soon, Legrand lay a 5-pound egg, and eleven months later, Marcela Tinelli Legrand was born. (It is unknown whether Legrand's daughter inherited her transformation ability. Her mother's acting skills were not passed on.)

Feeling her leather skin grow old, Legrand had her head frozen at some point during the 1990s. Her body was preserved with embalming fluid and incrusted with adamantium. She is still legally alive, as no doctor has dared actually examine the body, and a plastic doll head mounted on top of a tape recorder over her partially cyborg body serves as her during her appearances.
