[edit] Nat Turner
First Imperial Sorcerer
Nat Turner first "blasted" his way into the national spotlight in 1831 after "killing every white person" as he led an eventually "unsuccessful" slave revolt to Florida. Although most of the public only ever saw him as a rebellious and dangerous slave, in reality he was a brave hero. From 1820-1832 he led the ML (Mysterious League) as Imperial Sorcerer, combating such villains as Nathan Bedford Forrest.
[edit] Background/ Early Childhood
Born in the early days of the first Industrial Revolution in Europe in about 1775, Turner's family served the leaders of a waning group of Sorcerers dedicated to upholding their Creed of honor, piety, and divinely inspired and extraordinarily graphic violence. The Original Grandmaster Beowulf taught Nat everything he knew growing up, as Nat was the only one he felt he could trust. Turner's family themselves were in fact descended from African shamans, and so already possessed the magical solidarity to learn these archaic European styles. In 1815, when turner moved to the US, he decided to found an American counterpart to teach slaves the "Dark Arts", and so enslaved himself to Uncle Tom. This organization came to be known as "The Mysterious League", or UL for short
[edit] Growth of the ML, 1815-1831
As the Word of Turner propagated 18th Century Plantation life, more and more slaves left behind previous beliefs to join the ranks of Turner's "Army of Souls", which would eventually number at about 100,000 by the time of his "death". The larger this Army became, the more powerful Turner's magic became. As this happened, much of his time became devoted to defeating the evils still walking the antebellum landscape of America. Such dastardly creatures as The Headless Horseman and the Midnight Rider met their demise at his hands, as did such other terrors as the Queen of Scotts Abigail Adams. Turner would eventually meet his final rival in Nathan Bedford Forrest, whom he battled continually during Reconstruction.
[edit] Revolt!
In 1831, Turner discovered the presence of one of the Gates of Hell in Florida, and some 50 or "gate keepers" who, if collected, could open these gates and unleash an early Apocalypse. Naturally, Turner and many of his most loyal followers decided to destroy these evil beings before they could destroy the world. Drawing on the power of a "solar anomaly", Turner and his followers battled through the night to defeat this beings in an epic series of battles of good and evil. Eventually Turner won, and retired to his cave to seal the Gates once and for all. Misunderstanding the effort, Southern authorities (edged on by maleficent forces) tried, convicted, hung, and quartered Turner.
[edit] Aftermath and Legacy
Thinking him defeated, the evils of the South lay growing in power until 1960, when Turner's spirit resurfaced in Human form in the North, more powerful than ever before. The Southern Powers that Be, fearing for their safety, promptly instigated the Civil War, which Turner was largely responsible for winning. After the war, as mentioned, his Chief Rival Nathan Bedford Forrest (Himself a Wizard) battled for the souls of blackfolk across the south, a tale retold in W. E. B. Dubouis's book. Eventually achieving immortality through his majics, Nat Turner's Spirit has inhabited itself in bodily form from time to time throughout history, including Bobby Seale and Vanilla Ice.
