The New Zealand Knights (previously known as the Awful Dingbats) are a group of medieval semi mentally retarted knights from England who were previously known as Kingz. John Adshead, a wacky New Zealand scientist was looking for players to be in an exciting new sport called Socka. At this time the game had yet to be invented, but in his usual ditzyness, Dr. Adshead assumed the quality of these semi-retarted knights from the 1400's would be good enough for Socka's Australian competition, the A-League so he went back in time and brought them back to the future to play for the latest A-League franchise.

[edit] The Knight's short history

Despite being able to teach the knights the basic rules of the game they unfortunately could not realise you are supposed to get it into the opponent's goal and not their own, so they did concede just a few more than they should have. However, despite coming last and being out of contention for the premiership six hundred and thirty two years before the competition even began, they did have some highlights. The major one was of course getting to play against Melbourne Victory, despite losing by 12 goals in a close contest. The other highlight of the season was when they actually scored once, in a 14-1 thriller against Central Coast. One day they do plan to actually acquire a player with any kind of knowledge of the game, but at the moment the club feels players like Darren Bazeley, Sean Devine, Noah Hickey and Jonas Salley will do for now.
