Night of the Living Dead is a popular low budget documentary about ambulatory corpses who have no capacity to think, no remnant of human feelings, and are driven to consume the flesh of the living. These creatures are known as "zombies" or "olds," some times also referred to as "wrinkle-trolls" or "worthless."
Schools in America have used the documentary on many occasions, since a zombieless history is only a theory and we need all opinions on what is or isn't fact. The documentary explores the experience of four normal poeple with souls holding out against hordes of brain-dead zombies in a world turned upside-down, with hilarious consequences, like death and emotional torment.
[edit] Festival
Recently Night of the Living Dead has also become a national festival. Colloquially dubbed the Republican Convention, it was started in 1988 by George Romero, who had directed aforementioned film. The purpose of the festival was to spread zombie awareness, as well as any other undead. The festival always takes place at night, because it is required by law that the day preceding the festival be spent buying brains. At sunset, the festival starts.
The festival usually starts with the zombie president giving a speech. Usually the speech follows the format of "Braiiinnnsss, braiinnnss, BRAIINNNSSS!" followed by the president snacking down upon the brains of whoever is next to him. However, the 7th zombie president decided to spice things up a bit, and changed the format. He decided to forego the statement of "Brains," and proceeded directly to eating the brains of the man next to him.
Later, the festival usually includes hayrides, a petting zoo, and an obstacle course. The festival traditionally concludes with the zombies chasing the living citizens of the town in order to eat their brains. The citizens usually respond with gunfire, and a good time is had by all. This portion of the festival is usually initiated by the zombies; but once, in 1994 in Hamstead, New Hampshire, the citizens chose to start the ending ceremony. Subsequently, all the zombies in Hamstead either fled or were killed, and no Night of the Living Dead festivals have been held in Hamstead since. It was also rumored that spunky the kite flying dragon has been spotted outside of wisconsin during the night of these festivals, "why Wisconsin?" a news reporter from Channel 51 asked, "The world may never know nor does anyone give a shit about some kite flying dragon named spunky."
The being worthless craze is cathcing on like a wildfire.
