Peter Barton

Peter Barton is the pseudonim of Alex van Brunen, a Dutch failed comedian. He was born in 1880 in Katwijk but raised by his foster family in Amsterdam. He has a twin brother named Lucy.
After he graduated at De Klimroos primary school, he started working as a professional primary at Microsoft, where he invented Hotmail. The idea behind this was simple:
One year after he was fired at Microsoft, he started to become in serious debts, since nobody wanted to offer him a job anymore. It was then that he started his career as a comedian. Unfortunately, he had no sense of humour and therefore he could do nothing but use the jokes from other comedians. To give it an original taste, he never went to preform in any theatre but instead wrote the gags in articles that he published in several news magazines.

There is only one joke he frequently made that is not known to be somebody elses (although it is likely to be originally made up by someone unknown, like a friend), and that is the one to turn everything to yourself. For example, on this chocolate bar is tasty, he would reply I am tasty too. Sometimes, he would continue (or say instead): Secretly, we are all tasty!

- The train goes every 15 minutes.
- I'm going every 15 minutes.
- Secretly, we're all going every 15 minutes.
- I'm having sex with my girlfriend.
- Secretly, we're all having sex with your girlfriend.
He didn't get very famous with this joke as most of them didn't make any sense.

Peter Barton died tragically at 3 december 2107. His last words were: "Finally, it's my time. I thought it would never come!" On which his girlfriend replied: "Finally, it's my time. I thought I would never come!"
