Plot twist

A plot twist is a the formatting of a page of text to "twist" around a picture in the center or to the side of a page. Or whatever. Plot twists often appear in very, very bad writing (see George Lucas and/or M. Night Shyamalamadingdong), because they distract people from otherwise crappy content. For instance, the writer of this article is actually Adolf Hitler.
Revealing plot twists is considered a terrible crime in most countries, and is punishable by slow, torturous death in Singapore. In another clever twist, the writer of this article is in fact a native of Singapore, and therefore has been recently killed. With a fish. A very sharp one. In yet another clever twist, this fish/murder weapon is actually your mom.
Plot twists have often been a source of tragedy and strife. For instance, after discovering that Darth Vader was actually Luke's father, a group of one hundred nerds all went insane. Fifty committed suicide, forty eight went on murder sprees, beating people slowly to death with their plastic light saber blades, and, in a unique twist, the remaining two are Donny and Marie Osmond. As you can see, no good comes from rude surprises.

With the discovery of a manuscript that seems to be an early draft of Hamlet, it has been determined that William Shakespeare is the original inventor of the plot twist. In this version, Hamlet escapes on a pirate ship and returns to Denmark, only to discover that he is actually Keanu Reeves. He immediately commits suicide. It is clear why Shakespeare scrapped this version of the play.
