Fish Ewe Cat Klingon, Mike Elephant!

~ Oscar Wilde on the Radio Alphabet.

The Radio Alphabet (otherwise known as the Phone Attic Alphabet) is used in a loud voice when reading Index Numbers over a radio (or phone, but only if you're on the top floor). It makes the whole task unnecessarily long and tedious, plus if the person at the other end doesn't know the alphabet, you end up having to spell the words that you are spelling out the letters with words, in letters, or is that letters with words?

The Radio Alphabet was invented by Alexander Graham Bell ten seconds after he famously said "Watson, come here! I want you!" and Mr. Watson replied "What? Ten past three."

Anyhoo, let's cut to the chase, the letters are spelt out as follows (and, for obvious reasons, what follows has to be a list of the letters from 'A' to 'Z',so cut me some slak and tell us awl about Alexander Graham Bell's crack habit....):

Radio Alphabetty Spaghetti
A - Alfafa B - Betata C - Cat D - Dog E - Elephant F - Fish G - Gnome H - 'Otel I - Eye
J - Jehovah K - Klingon L - Like M - Mike N - Nike O - Oik P - Pike Q - Queer R - Roofie
S - Smack T - Tranx U - Ewe V - Vodka W - Whiskey X - Xylophone Y - You Z - Zeugmatic
