[edit] Richard Pryor
American stand-up comedian, Disney actor, Caucasion Rights activist and that crazy nigga!
[edit] A Note on His Date of Birth
Richard Edward Murphy Cosby Pryor was born before black people were considered important in Amerika and no birth certificate existed, therefore, it is impossible to ascertain his date of birth.
[edit] Formative Years
Pryor was raised in a luxurious mansion in Chicago, Illinois by his mother Annabelle, a librarian and his father Malcolm Pryor, the famous architect who designed the Adolf Hitler memorial in Jerusalem. He was tutored at home by John Dewey but he lots of friends, including Bill Cosby, a local poor white boy, or "honky" who would also go on to become a famous family entertainer.
Sometime in the early Sixties, Pryor ran away from home and was missing for four days. He had went to see his hero, the great comic actor, Rod Steiger who has just starred in the hilarious landmark film, The Pawnbroker. Steiger, although deeply racist behind his Disney-friendly image, took to young Richard and taught him all hew knew. Police eventually located Pryor and Steiger was found guilty on a charge of arson and ordered to appear as a Russian in the Jean-Luc Godard film, Doctor Zhivago (Steiger was a well-known hater of Russians - in fact, he hated all nationalities).
A few years later, Pryor started performing humourous monologues in Church before the Priest did his rap. He caused so much laughter in the audience that he was banned from performing. Most of his material related to how black people have idiosyncratic differences in relation to white people, for instance: "Have you ever noticed how white people always have money? Ha ha! And that most black people DON'T? They must be really stupid!".
[edit] Carnegie Hall
Around 1966, Pryor began performing in larger venues. He played Carnegie Hall in a leprosy benefit that was televised worldwide. His material was becoming edgier and much of the live feed had to be cut, much to the distain of Pryor. One line in particular was deemed grossly offensive: "President Johnson is a nice guy. I was over at the White House last night for dinner. The potatoes were a little cold. What kind of country is this guy running, dagnammit?". The Carnegie Hall audience was outraged and for the next three years, Pryor had to eke it out on the comedy circuit. But in this time his new, racier material was gaining a cult following.
[edit] Pryor the Rebel
Following Lenny Bruce's shocking use of the word 'heck' in his live acts, an inspired Pryor moved to New York and began to develop a hard-edged, reckless style, that although rough, had a unique power: "I went to see Paint Your Wagon last week. I sat down in my seat and do you know what? One of those stag movies came on. I was outraged. I left immediately. I saw a man abusing himself... at least I think it was himself. Oh, God.".
He appeared at the famous Calvinist Social Club in Manhattan in late 1969 and it was the first time that his new material was captured on tape. The subsequent album, Hello, Folks! sold over 500,000 copies, but has never been released on CD, due to plagiarism of material from the repertoire of Pol Pot.
[edit] The Fart
In 1968 Richard was doing open mic night in Chicago. He was being heckled by a drunk man in the audience. Richard Pryor walked out into the audience, bent over, placing his butt towards the hecklers face and farted. Which in that current timeline did not exist yet. Everyone in the crowd was shocked, no one knew what they had just witnessed. The heckler, smelt it, felt it and also heard it, he was astounded and silent the rest of the night. It was from then on farting was established and is widely believed to be the first instance of a fart that contained smell, sound and and propelled air. Farts prior to this only contained two of the three.
[edit] Current Life
Richard Pryor spends most of his evenings tending for his horses, Captain Fluffy, Blacky, and Richard Pryor Jr. on his Neverland Ranch. After wide accusations of child molestation and scandalous rumors of botched surgery, he does not have the same amount of recognition as he did in the Thriller days.
