Siesta
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
Siesta is the biggest spanish contribution to world wellness. A siesta is a tradition in those weird countries around the Mediterranean (or, more commonly known as, Middle Earth) Sea. It consists of sleeping a lot instead of working, and, after having woken up, asking themselves why the hell has the Sun lowered itself so much.
[edit] History
It is believed that these peoples, or Middleearthians, invented the siesta as an excuse to not work and sleep. It has suffered many changes during the years, and currently is another reason for staying at home, since siesta time is sacred, and sleeping off the hangover caused by excess consumption of sangria.
[edit] Religion
The siesta is not only a sacred tradition, to be followed everyday between the hours of 3 p.m and 5 p.m., but also a national belief. If the siesta is not allowed, or interrupted, the ordinary Middleearthian will mutate into a rock if a Spaniard and kill a bull, and will become a Medusa if it is a Greek, and will invade Italy. An Italian Middleearthian will simply eat some more pizza and will then go and be friends with Germany. The interruption of this tradition has led to disastrous effects, most notably the romantic relationship between Adolf and Benito.
Since 34 B.C, the siesta is also a national holiday, obliging the followers of this religion to sleep for a full maxi siesta (25 hours per day) every 31st of February.
The siesta is also mentioned in the 102 commandments as "thou shalt sleep every day, and wake up after noon, and go to sleep again".
