[edit] Suomisaundi

A groundbreaking musical genre that's been taking the world by storm from early seventies on. The highlights include inventive, often controversial lyrics and progressive, sometimes highly experimental sound. Suomisaundi is currently the third largest export product of Finland, after Russian cars and blonde nurses.

The universal catchiness of Suomisaundi is clear, considering the multiple times Finland has won the Eurovision Song Contest, with such smash hits as "Reggae OK" by Riki Sorsa and "Yamma, yamma" by Pave Maijanen.

[edit] History

The roots of Suomisaundi are deep in the melancholic, vibrant and quite often painfully throbbing Fenno-Ugric roots of the Finnish people. Traditionally the music has only been played in the crowded corner pubs of the nations sprawling metropolii. However, after the Finns invented the audio cassette recorder in 1981, Suomisaundi started it's invasion on foreign markets.

[edit] The future

As outlined in the current Five Year Plan of the ruling National Communist Workers Party, the production and export of Suomisaundi is only destined to increase. One fresh example of this has been the recent sale of a shipment of slightly used goth metal singers to Argentina.
