This whole thing is dumb. There's nothing wrong with made-up stuff, so long as it at least serves some purpose (like the list of Detroit attractions that includes "Abandoned building on 8 Mile Road," etc.). The article itself, just like most of the articles here, contains no broader point -- there's no satirical or ironic element to it. It doesn't SAY anything. Without some meaningful backdrop or context, it's just a bunch of gobbledygook that's too boring to read past the first paragraph.
As a person who has “enjoyed” Detroit and also enjoys a certain degree of brain power, I would rate this article as very funny. --KP CUN 08:43, 13 Aug 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Businesses in Detroit
Is Northwest Airlines the only powerful business in the Detroit area?
There are lot of unemployed people in Detroit!
[edit] Ouch...
I had to check this out after Detroit's mention in Kentuckistan Fried Movie. What an awful article. There are redeeming features though such as the attractions list. I might try to pretty it up at some point, I rather like rescuing articles.

[edit] Other version
I just rewrote this article, and it got reverted. Honestly, can someone tell me if it's not actually better? Because this artivle pretty much sucks. Frankly, I put a lot of work into writing a quality article, and it was reverted to this piece of garbage. Honestle, I think this article deserves to be completely rewritten, and if anyone agrees, please keep my version. -Blackhawk003
[edit] lulz
As someone who lives in southeastern Michigan, I have to say that you have to laugh at Detroit or else you'll scream. I would take issue with the People's Republic of Ann Arbor and Ypsitucky being 'burbs if only because they're a good forty miles away.
