The Raccoons
The Raccoons
The Raccoons was a Canadian childrens TV series that ran beteween 1985 - 1991. Originally an animated cartoon, but during The Great Canadian Arthritis Epidemic of 1986/87 it returned to the classic 'Guys in Suits' look made famous by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films. It returned to the old animated style in late 1989 when production was moved to eastern Belarus.

It was originally titled The Rock-Ons, and portrayed, in humorous and easily digestable 25 minute episodes, the life of the then struggling British Heavy Metal band Iron Maiden, who were trying to forge a career on the infamous Canadian Rural Progressive Rock And Punk Circuit on the outskirts of Winnipeg. Due to poor viewing figures and the massive commercial success of Winnie the Pooh at the time, the decision was made to switch the subject of the show to a family of raccoons and over the next 12 series they gradually filtered out any references to rock and roll completely.
