โ€œWell, there goes THAT one. . .โ€

~ Oscar Wilde on The conclusion of 'The Song That Never Ends'

Up until early 2006, scientists believed they had discovered everything there was to possibly know about music. They pinpointed the exact date in which the music died, they learned how to play two CDs at once, and they even figured out the secret behind Hanson's stunning mid-90s popularity. But there was always one mystery which they had no hope of ever solving; how The Song That Never Ends actually ended.

[edit] How it was solved

In February of 2006, with the help of Oscar Wilde, a group of men and women in Birmingham, England finally solved this problem. This group had been meticulously singing the song for 35 years on end, ever since they were children. It is estimated that they had sung it well over 110.3 million times before mutually arriving at the conclusion.

[edit] How it ends

"The secret is that it doesn't really never end, it just takes so long to sing that it is almost guaranteed never to end," said Manchester native Clyde Smithers. He and his group of childhood friends concluded the last musical mystery known to man by intoning for the first time in recorded history:

This is the song that never ends
Yes it goes on and on my friends
Some people started singing it, not knowing what it was
And they'll continue singing it until they get the bends... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,,,........

Or you could just kill the singers...
