Theory of Continual Idiocy

The Theory of Continual Idiocy is a scientific theory that states that it is physically impossible for a stupid person to believe anything that's true.

[edit] Example

There are several examples of the theory at work, most of which you can do by going out and talking to someone on the street. Here's a classic example:

  • Intellegent person(I): God doesn't exist.
  • Stupid person(S): Yes he does! I know he does!
  • I: Seriously though, how do you think it's possible for so many people to see god so differently if they're all looking at the same person?
  • S: Well most of them are wrong.
  • I: They're wrong because they disagree with you?
  • S: Yeah... I mean... Well if god doesn't exist then how was the universe created? Everything needs a cause.
  • I: If that's the case then what created god?
  • S: Ummmmm... You're gonna go to hell!
  • I: And another thing, if god is all powerful why do so many people stray from his path?
  • S: *runs away with ears covered*

Another good way to prove this theory is by talking to someone in your average public school:

  • I: So let's assume for a moment that the Big Bang really happened...
  • S: It did.
  • I: Okay, so what went bang?
  • S: A little infinitely compacted, dense ball of massive... everything.
  • I: Uh-huh, so how exactly did this ball of everything get there in the first place?
  • S: Ummmmm...
  • I: Maybe someone put it there? Like a god... or just God, for example?
  • S: *runs away with ears covered, because his meager brains are running out of them*

This theory does however allow for idiots to believe things that aren't true, like this:

  • I: You're gonna go to hell!
  • S: OMFG, really! How can I redeem myself!?
  • I: You have to go and convert the heathens! Build up and army and take them by force!
  • S: Ok dokey!

[edit] Alternative Theory

There is also an alternative theory that states that a stupid person will never believe anything that's true if it's presented in an intelligent manner. If it's phrased stupidly, however, it will be believable:

  • I: Hilter was evil, Hitler was Christian, that means Christianity is evil!
  • S: Oh noes! I'm converting to Islam!

as opposed to:

  • I: More people have been killed in the name of Christ than any other person, therefore Christianity is evil!
  • S: You shut up now or I'll kill you for Christ!
