Troy Tempest, known by his real name as Lt. Hamish MacBeth Jr. was born on January 4th 1968 in New York, USA but believed himself to Irish (like the majority of Americans) as his Great Granny Spencer was born in Glasgow. Known as one of the world’s most famous mariners, puppeteer Gerry Adams paid credit to Tempest after building a puppet in his honour which later depicted Troy’s early life and became a hit character in Anderson’s children’s TV show Thunderbirds.

[edit] Biography

Born in New York and raised as a child in Queens, Troy quickly learned how to look after himself on the streets after his father died prematurely after a crack overdose in 1971. He spent his school years here where he acquired an interest in oceanography, swimming and the wonders of tropical fish but was sent to an institution for young offenders in San Diego at the age of 16 for the shooting of a young Afro-American.

At the age of 18, he was released into a rehabilitation program at the World Navy Academy in San Diego, California after he was headhunted after exhibiting excellent shooting skills he acquired on the streets of New York. On graduation he became a member of the World Navy's submarine service after boning fellow graduate Atlanta Shore who got him in through the backdoor. This was to later backfire on Troy when her father was promoted to Commander of W.A.S.P (short for Weird And Scary Puppets) and sentenced him to life imprisonment on a submarine called Stingray

At one time he was captured and nearly executed by enemy forces on a mission but was saved by work mate and best friend George 'Phones' Sheridan who later left WASP for a career in socialist politics. Sheridan’s son Tommy followed in his father’s footsteps and is also the former leader of the Scottish Socialist Party.

Tempest was later rewarded for his outstanding work with the WASPs which eventually earned him the title of Aquanaut Of The Year 1998

[edit] Later Years

It was towards the end of his career when Troy met his then-to-be wife Marina Tempest in a nightclub in Singapore in 1987. They later divorced after Troy discovered she could never scream his name in bed and was to later re-marry to his early sweetheart Atlanta Shore against his father’s wishes. The pair were banished from Marineville after being caught red-handed ‘’doing it’’ on Shore’s control room switch board in the base’s main tower and fled to nearby Nashville to live a life of solitude. It was here that the pair tried their hand in a country band called The Stingrays and enjoyed numerous successful hits, including I Wish I Were In Dixie Tonight, But She's Out of Town, I'm So Miserable Without Marina, It's Like Having Her Here and the classic country western classic Marina, I Hate Every Bone In Your Body Except Mine which reached No.12 in the Tennessee Charts.
