Ugly means something so discusting, vile, hideous, and atrotiously NASTY, to the eyes of a person. Ugly is also a very ugly word. Ugly ugly ugly! It is very, very unusual to see something so ugly you go blind. But some people have gone blind from the ugliness.
A few incidents have been reported where an UGLY person stared into another's eyes, leading them to death. In the myth of *Medusa, she is so ugly she petrifies people. Aka, she turns them to stone.
