I tried creating an account twice today, but when I try to click the "Submit" button, it doesn't do anything. Please reply at TobyMobias@aol.com.
Also, I was wondering how I can add something to a template. I created another Jesus article (Paperclip Jesus).

I tried deleting a broken image (Image:9QLZVCAYMA3W7CAHLV3S8CA9P8Z6NCAIA6EI6CANQVD5JCAI56ERPCAT4526NCA60UVLDCAB1U06ECARE050ICAGDS99MCAXESV2ACAKA54CHCAJH0W56CA2IMYNFCAX9BVWECABBVBQTCAMJLZYXCAFE2UZM.jpg, however when I click on the image the deletion log lists the page as having been deleted by another administrator (see [1]). [edit] Protection for Windows Vista
Not only does this article look like it was made by microsoft itself... but it sucks. And, no one can make it funnier, cause it's protected. Why is this?
- It's only protected from anonymous contributions, as it appears to be a common spam target. You can edit it if you register. --Algorithm 21:01, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- I think that's the look it's going for, and you're missing the point... it's written mainly from the point of view of Microsoft themselves. It's possibly protected against you for this very reason. 01:52, 20 Sep 2007
[edit] Login Troubles
My username is Joeschmuck, but for whatever reason, I can't seem to log in on to my profile! Every time I do, it leads me to a blank screen, and I can't open up any new pages, as they are all blank. The only way is to close out Mozilla and (I think.) clear the history.
I've nailed it down to three suspects: My crappy computer, which seems to hate me for some reason, the server is malfunctioning on me all the time, or maybe I've written something bad. Can someone please tell me what the heck is wrong? Preferably an admin? If it happens to be something I wrote down, I'll erase it! Just help me out, please.
- I can confirm that no problem exists between me and the server, which would indicate that the server works. You aren't banned, which would normally bring up a page stating that you were anyway. As I see it, I can offer you two suggestions to help you out:
- 1) Check that your browser/internet connection is fully functional. If you've turned off all sorts of javascript and other things, this site might not work so well. Ditto with cookies. If you're
a god damned moronusing IE, switch to firefox and see if that works. If you are already using firefox, check your preferences and make sure that you're not killing all JS/Java/cookies/anything else which this site requires, since I'm pretty ignorant about that. If that fails, reinstall firefox. - 2) If that doesn't work, re-post here, and I'll ban you infinitely, and then you won't have to worry about logging in. It's a workaround, but I can't see it failing.

- Hope this helps! 07/3 14:31
I always use Firefox. But no matter what I do (my cookies/java/javascript is and has always stayed on), nothing works. I can still access my user profile. And write crap down there. Take it away. I don't honestly think not having an uncyclopedia account is a big deal...right? I can still edit everything else without one. But thanks anyhow.
- I'm guessing it has something to do with your computer. To confirm, borrow another and try logging in from there. While you can just not log in, we hate anon ip addresses, and are horribly mean to them. You'll find us far nicer and more friendly if you have a username. Have you A) reinstalled Firefox, or B) checked your anti-spyware/virus to see if it's trying to clean up your browsing experience? 07/3 22:39
It has to be the computer. I got my brother to log on, but it works fine on his. We are eventually going to do a defrag on this POS computer and that should (hopefully) work. We were planning on doing a defrag for a while.
- I highly doubt that a defrag is the answer to your problem. When was the last time you wiped the whole thing and reinstalled Windows? Back in the day my standard was every 6-9 months. For the last few years I've only touched windows under duress, which solved almost all of my problems. If you're feeling ambitious, you could download kubuntu, burn it to cd, and play around with the live cd part of it. Burn the image, reboot, and as long as your BIOS is set to boot off cd you'll boot up in linux rather than windows. That will tell you if all your hardware is working. If it is, any issues are purely Windows' fault. Which they almost always are. 07/4 13:27

When I edit a page normally they're is a bar of options at the top of the editing page with stuff like Upload File, Bold, Italics, Insert External Link etc. This isn't happening anymore and I am very confused. [edit] account problem.
I have tried to create an account but am informed i already have two accounts and can't have any more. I have not created ANY accounts, please advise. GryBurr@aol.com
- Your problem is most likely due to AOL's broken proxy server configuration. AOL is set up in such a way as to appear to have all of its users (pseudorandomly) connecting from the same few IP addresses, which causes problems as MediaWiki identifies anonymous users by their address. [edit] Wrong interwiki link
Currently the interwiki prefix fi: makes a link to finnish Uncyclopedia (Hikipedia). However there is an another Hikipedia at http://fi.uncyclopedia.info/ (or hiki.pedia.ws) which has more articles and seems to be more coherent. I bet all three finnish users would be very grateful if that interwiki link is changed... --82.181.222.155 18:44, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

- "Babel: The Movie" is unreachable because there's an extra space between the namespace prefix and the article title. Only way to fix an article name with a leading space is directly on the SQL database, can't reach it from here. --Carlb 10:54, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Problem reverting article
I was attempting to merge ASCII art to ASCII, however when I attempted to save the page I kept getting a reload page. I ran into the same problem when I tried to revert ASCII art. I'm not sure if this is because my computer isn't able to process it, or if it's a problem with the articles themselves. MadMax 09:39, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- That was the spam protection filter triggering on long numbers. See Wikia:Forum:String_of_numbers_type_vandalism. I changed all the number 8 to % and it worked. --Splaka 05:54, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

- 3rd, you don't use this ever, unless you want to get banned. If you have a really, really funny place for it, go for it. But if you abuse this or any other template, you will feel my banstick. Unlubed. 14:28, 16 Dec 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Undictionary Links/Targets
I am unable to directly link to an Undictionary entry using the method: Undictionary:A#An_entry where An_entry is the title of the Undictionary entry. I skimmed through the Dump comments on moving to the new Undictionary format, but this problem doesn't seem to have been raised?
Case in point: Apple I redirects to Undictionary:A#Apple_I but it only loads the page (Undictionary:A) and doesn't goto the Apple I entry. Although, using Undictionary:A#A does actually work, taking me to the A header.
--theRealSheep 11:17, 10 Nov 2005 (UTC) using IE6/Win95.
- It is actually a limitation of MediaWiki. You can't port over the # anchor in a redirect because the anchor is part of the url, and MediaWiki does not forward the url but replaces the contents of the page with the redirected page's contents. So your url stays uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Apple_I and not uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Apple_I#Apple_I. If you want you could probably use the link thusly: [[Apple I#Apple I|Apple I]] (but that might be annoying to change later). There is no known workaround or fix for this (I asked a developer), you just can't really do redirects with anchors (except to make doubleredirects, bah). --Splaka 11:26, 10 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- Well, that was quite helpful - Thank you. I was more worried that the page wasn't scrolling to the anchor when linked (eg. Undictionary:A#Apple_I) or even when typed into address bar but it works now. Perhaps, my hamsters were not running fast enough to power the internet. *wu-tush* --theRealSheep 15:25, 10 Nov 2005 (UTC) using an electric cattle prodder.
[edit] Submits Fail
I'm seeing many submits fail, and I'm having to re-submit things multiple times before they go through. Examples:
- Hitting "Save page" 3-4 times, getting previews, then finally having it save.
- Rollbacks failing multiple times. After a few tries, it works.
Anyone else having the same issues? 23:31, 3 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, most of us are in the IRC chan (discussing it), on most of wikicities. Intermittent rollback/delete/edit failures. --Splaka 23:52, 3 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- Jason is looking into it. He took one of the servers offline temporarily (which seems to have fixed the prob). --Splaka 02:36, 4 Nov 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Foreign pages
There's a few foreign language pages in the dead end section. Shouldn't these be displaying in their respective wikis ? While I've though of adding invisible links, possibly to Template:Jingoism ;-), or trying to look up at least one word in the foreign wiki's, I thought I'd check here to see if this was an error. I don't suppose anyone has any idea where to link these ? MadMax 22:53, 21 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- Lazy idea, do a string replace of " " for "]] [[De:", hit 'preview', see if any word has a link. The problem with and (and) is there are now offsite sister project uncyclipediae for them, so much of the content just goes there. --Splaka 23:04, 21 Oct 2005 (UTC)

SELECT cur_id, cur_namespace, cur_title, cur_text FROM `cur`,`searchindex` WHERE cur_id=si_page AND ( AND (MATCH (si_title) AGAINST ('city')) ) AND cur_namespace IN (0,2,6,12,14) LIMIT 0,50
from within function "". MySQL returned error "1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AND (MATCH (si_title) AGAINST ('city')) ) AND cur_namespace IN (brussels.wikia.com)".
Retrieved from "http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Special:Search"
- It looks like you can't use "and" in a search. Boolean malfunction! I don't know why, though. If the page actually exists it'll take you to it, but if it doesn't exist you get the error. --—rc (t) 06:03, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- It's due to how the sql request is formed. I think this is a bug with the wiki software itself. but, I wouldn't know how to fix it. --PantsMacKenzie 15:44, 31 Oct 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Attribution
I created a page (blind) shortly before I registered - can that be attributed to my account? (Teslacuted)
- I think it takes some doing that will probably never get done. Probably the best you can do is list it on your new user page and leave a note on Talk:Blind saying that you're the original author. --—rc (t) 19:23, 20 Sep 2005 (EDT)
I have the basic same problem. However, if you do write that, or "modify your modifications"/creations twice, in order to get credit, is that an acceptable practice? I mean, anybody, could do that with anything. While your IP talks for yourself objectively. And fairly (hopefully). How can you just associate your IP with the user name created from that IP?

I'm getting this when I try to revert edits
--Chronarion 13:40, 20 Sep 2005 (EDT)
- Ditto. However on at least one of the edits I was trying to revert, it had already been reverted. I got this message instead of the normal "rollback failed" message. -- 18:07, 20 Sep 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Trying to conTEMPLATE this
Ok, I added a category to Wacky's Template:NSFWArticle and Template:NSFWImage (so we can find the adult content easier), but the only things that show up in Category:Not safe for work are the templates themselves. I tried moving the cat link to the parent template at Template:Adult warning box and removing it from the other two, but still no go. Oddly enough, the pages marked with the template do have a link to the category (like Cindy_Crawford), but they won't show up in the list! Arg. I did almost the same thing with Category:War Games and Template:Wargame, and it works perfectly. Ideas? --Splaka 23:19, 16 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- I've had similar problems on other wikis :( It seems category templates are very flimsy
- EDIT: i slapped my template on a new image and article, and now it seems to work. maybe the pages have to be resaved or something for them to be picked up in the categories?--Maj Sir Insertwackynamehere

- Aha. That is probably the case. Probably needs to be moved on the page or possibly just edited in some way. Elvis had the same prob with his sig template on his talk page (wouldn't update there, would in the sandbox) until I deleted all occurances of it and he tried again. So, cache prob I guess. Bugger. --Splaka 02:46, 17 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Yes I just tried it, thats it :) Just click edit and then save, and voila! No real editing neccessary :) --Maj Sir Insertwackynamehere

- All the images are now in the category. However, they appear as a gallery. Know of way to have categorized images appear as a link? (Not that the gallery is bad, but it might get too big) --Splaka 02:51, 17 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Occasionally I find that just editing and saving doesn't refresh templates. A more solid way to "refresh" a template on a page is to just drop a comment in and save. No visible modifications to the page that way, and it seems to always refresh the templates when you make a sizable change. -- 12:54, 18 Sep 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Weird-ass Edits
I made 2 edits to the VFD page, the first can be seen here. However, "go to next diff", and you'll see that my second edit wiped out two unconnected edits, including the one I just made. What's really screwed up, is that I edited the "Collegium V" section - those other two sections weren't even on the screen when I wrote that little rant.
And this isn't the first time I've seen it happen - long ago Carlb accidently did the same to me - he made an edit, and my comment in an unrelated section disappeared. I think it was in a discussion in the community portal. He didn't know wtf had happened, and I forgot about it till now. Anyone have any ideas on wtf is going on here? 00:17, 7 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Hmm. I assumed the Feesch sockpuppet/stuffer edits to it's VFD yesterday had purposefully removed two other sections below #Feesch. However, maybe they did this accidentally too, since they only seemed to edit the ->Feesch section. Also, an edit by D3matt earlier chopped my sig in half. --Splaka 00:30, 7 Sep 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Syntax error
There appears to be a syntax error listed in the External links section of Wisconsin. However in the edit screen there is only one pair of brackets. 152.163.100.204 14:41, 31 Aug 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Restore Delay
I tried to restore Space-time continuum to an older version due to a user request, but was unable to do so. Every time I hit "restore" it told me it was restoring, but did nothing.
Aaaah...now that I manually edited and saved, I see that the restored edits are showing in the edit history. Apparently it took either:
- Time for the deleted edits to propigate back into the database. (I did hit refresh to make sure.)
- A save of the page to refresh the history.
Can anyone tell me which?
--Famine 22:07, 26 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- I know that if you update a template you have to "touch" (i.e. save, even a no change edit) pages that it;s used on for the changes to appear, perhaps this is the same?--Sir Elvis KUN FIC Bur. | Petition 22:53, 26 Aug 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Main Page error ?
Does anyone know if Main Page/images/ is a legitimate Uncyclopedia page, and if so, is there an error regarding the image file ? 64.12.116.204 17:03, 23 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Prepare thyself for a moderately messed up answer....Generically, all pages are legitimate Uncyclopedia pages. Main Page/images/ is a page. It has nothing to do with Main Page, other than the fact that they start with the same 9 characters. In a wiki, a / is treated like any other character in a page name, NOT as a subdirectory. As it is, that page was QVFD'd yesterday, and whacked by me personally. Because it was broken and useless. In the future, if you spot stuff like that, check the history. If it doesn't have actual content, post it to QVFD. Thanks. --Famine 12:38, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Dynamic Page List's and Inputbox extensions
Any chance of getting m:DynamicPageList and m:Help:Inputbox installed? It'll looks like it'll be really useful for UnNews and OScar quotes etc. --Sir Elvis KUN | Petition 23:16, 5 Aug 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Recent changes not working?
When I go to Special:Recentchanges I get this error:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/wikicities/wiki/includes/Skin.php on line 2104
It only seems to apply to recent changes. Wuh? --EvilZak 06:00, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Article display error ?
It seems the Tuica cititi article isn't displaying correctly, however I'm not sure if this is an error or purposely incoherent although I assume the administrators would like to take a look at the page. 64.12.116.204 07:07, 1 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Apparently the article [2] isn't able to link to any other page. 64.12.116.204 07:11, 1 Aug 2005 (UTC)
- Seems OK now, I've deleted it anyway to be sure, if you want recreate it. --Elvis 10:43, 1 Aug 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Non english article
I'm not sure if this is the right place however the article Roel appears to be in Dutch. Is there a no english template or a place to list non-english articles needing translation or are they to be rewritten/deleted ? 205.188.117.11 17:40, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)

- There's a link to it from, dead-end only means that it is not itself properly wikified (ie:no blue outbound links from it to anything else). Category:Spanish and link to, I presume. --Carlb 08:01, 13 Aug 2005 (UTC)
