At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Hyperbole/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply put {{adoptme}} on your Userpage to join. Again, welcome! -- 19:43, Apr. 30, 2008
[edit] Good day, sir
I was strolling through Special:Recentchanges and happened to come across the edit you made to 30 roc and the edit summary you quite expertly attached to it. Don't be shy about making edits to pages, the vast majority of the articles could use a makeover anyway. Also, the rewrite was quite good. If you're considering becoming a regular editor here I'd recommend checking out Adopt-A-Noob and getting adopted so somebody can show you the ropes. [edit] Hey
Thanks for reviewing Brick Wall! The stuff after 30 Feet Away is essentially focused on parodying Red light, but I'll try and add some more satire about the American car to make sure that part can stand on its own. --THE 23:51, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Pee Review/User:PF4Eva/Mr. Nice Guy
Hey Hyperbole! Very good review: I especially like the worked for me/didn't work for me dichotomy of the humor section. The only thing I'd suggest is trying to not to use you so much in reviews. Because stuff like "it seems like you started writing it with very little plan for what it was going to be." may discourage, incense, or even discouragely incense authors who--especially at the receiving end of a low-scoring review--may feel like they were appraised and consequently feel attacked. Besides, it's difficult to imagine "it seems like you started writing it with very little plan for what it was going to be." elicitng the most sedate and positive response from a reviewee. Once again, very good review! Mightydandylion

[edit] Pee Review:Ex-Lax
Can you ICU that article? Oh by the way, in Soviet Russia Articles ICU YOU!205.240.146.169 23:49, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
About that review (Uncyclopedia:Pee Review/Ex-Lax). Man, while I don't exactly disagree with your sentiments, that was a bit harsh. While it's not a good article, just giving a critical review isn't quite what we're after - we try, where possible, to encourage people in the right direction. So: a couple of lines about how most writers at Uncyc start out writing stuff like this; the optimistic thought that it is possible to improve; a nudge in the direction of HTBFANJS and UN:BEST to help them get the idea of what we're after; and a cheery sign off wishing them good luck or something. That's generally a good approach to consider, anyway. Generally, encouragement is the way to go, wherever possible! However, this is the only issue I've seen with your reviewing thus far on the site, so thanks for helping out, and keep up the good work! Tatty byes! --SirU.U.Esq. VFH | KUN | Natter | Lt? | Pee 10:21, May 7
- That review was a tough call for me. I mean, of course I understand the importance of encouragement - everyone's going to make a few mistakes their first time around. On the other hand, Ex-Lax embodies absolutely everything an article shouldn't be - and judging by the weird flood of IPs surrounding it (the IP who wrote it, the IP who first "reviewed" it and was reverted, the IP who asked me to ICU it), I suspect we're all just getting trolled, here. --Hyperbole 14:47, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well, if in doubt, on first offense, give a nice review anyway - you can slap an ICU on it but explain it's there to give them 7 days' grace to improve it before it gets deleted. If it is trolling, odds are they'll lose interest and when the ICU gets deleted. But on the chance that it's not trolling, it's best to make them feel welcome - we're trying to attract users, not scare the bejaysus out of 'em! ;-) Anyway, that's my attitude... --SirU.U.Esq. [edit] Fourth Pee Review-related post in a row. TAKE HEED!
I observe that you have succeeded in making quite the name for yourself out of the "lower classes". Well, not really, but you know what I mean. While I generally try not to associate with you peasants, I do feel that perhaps you may be worthy of receiving somewhat of an "upgrade" from the squalor in which you so humbly appear trapped within. To that purpose, I, Boomer, Captain Catheter of the People for the Evaluation of Excrement and Influencing Nominations for Greatness, do formally extend an invitation to the great society of PEEING. Should you choose to accept this offer, please place your signature under the sub-heading "Fresh Stains" beneath the "Members" header. Should you choose to reject this offer, well, screw you anyway! I must say this NotM race has been really fun. I am glad we showed up around the same time to help class this joint up (if big brother is watching, I am kidding, don't kill the noobs). I read most of your work and must say HowTo:Throw a Fireball is hilarious (found myself practicing immediately). Hope you take the time to read through my work, you might enjoy it (I've noticed we have very contrasting styles). Good luck on the rest of the NotM race. --Cheapinitreal 23:10, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

The more I read your work, the more I love it. Would you like to be adopted? (ie. you ask me random questions, I answer them) because I feel, if you stay on and keep writing, you are a shoe in for WotM one day. -- 16:51, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Just wondering if you could give me any tips on this article I'm writing, conpitalism. --The Truth of Matheus 05:26, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, my first tip is: read the article Capitalism. It seems to me that the concept of conpitalism, right now, is that it's an article about capitalism. So if it isn't better than the pre-existing article Capitalism, it has no reason to exist. Either come up with something more clever than that article; or simply edit that article instead of starting a new one; or change the concept of "conpitalism"; or write something else. Good luck! --Hyperbole 05:33, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

I responded to your thank you on my talk page, this is about VFH. May I recommend not watching them, in other words, not putting them in your watchlist? Maybe vote on other articles, or just leave VFH totally alone and focus on making other good articles. That's been a trick of mine for a while so that I don't get depressed. let's see if this makes you feel better:
- on Uncyclopedia:VFH/Why?:Eat your broccoli: ( 2 + 20.5 + 23 = ) 45.5 voted for, and 8.5 voted against ( = 5.5 + 3 ) (this isn't a slap in the face to DJ or Sycamore, it's just math).

Generally, it's not looked on well to remove stuff from your talk page. Oh, I know it's your talk page, and you can do whatever you want to it, but actually removing stuff from it like you just did is not something we generally do. Generally. (General). 18:13, Jul 10
- Hey, MrN9000 - I didn't delete it, I just moved anything award-like into my new trophy case. Which is an archive, of sorts. Or is even that a faux pas? (You didn't really think I'd delete your "hats off" award, did you?) --Hyperbole 18:15, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

- We must be talking about two things, MrN - I don't see a partisan ideology being promoted in Battle of the Sexes or The Color Problem at all. Not even a little bit. I don't see anything that suggests that either Republican Evangelicals or secular Democrats are fucking morons. Yes, of course feminism and race are political issues, but these articles are just silly. And in the case of the former, also sexy. But they don't come down on one side of an ideological divide like a sledgehammer. So, yeah, obviously that stuff is good. [edit] Thanks
Thanks for the comments, I've cleaned up a lot of the areas you mentioned. It's a little more consistent, less repetitive, stupid, and generally easier to read. (I think.)
A lot of this will be funnier if you know a lot about the genre. There actually was someone named Quorthon who created Viking metal and Black Metal, so its sort of an in-joke. And yes, there really is Nazi black metal. Mattfca 14:24, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

That's for the Pee Review, Hyperbole, your specific comments will help me edit Lara Croft to a damn fine article.
I have a question, however: in the review, you mention the yo-yo-ing between Lara as an actual person and Lara as a fictional character.
