Sir,
You recently tagged an article of mine, Charles Sumner with a template that says it ought to be expanded. I'm afraid I must respectfully disagree. I think the article goes on just as long as necessary: one can only milk the hostility of the "author" of this artice to a seemingly innocent target for so long. I believe if it is expanded any further, the funny will drain away.

- OK, the reason why I tagged it "expansion" was because it's not that strong of a tag; that is, it gives you a month to fix it. In retrospect, I could have even stuck it with {{idea}}. I do know you're a talented writer; I remember Screenwriting from my noobhood.
- What I would suggest is more of a "progression" of the anger, so to speak. What I mean by that is this: the "slant" thing has been done a lot, Gordon Ramsay coming to mind because I narrated it. What I was trying to encourage you to do is find a way to keep your angle and bring something even newer to the table. What's there is good, and I definitely didn't want to ICU it.
- Perhaps you could "civilly" deride him. Find more flowery language for your insults. For example, instead of "If you had met him while he was alive, he would have thought he was better than you. But he's not. He was just a big blowhard who couldn't keep his mouth shut" say "Had you met him during his tenure on this Earth (not Mars, mind you, though he looks like an alien), you would have felt that you were inferior to him, a veritable cornucopia of inadequacy. However, his loquacious manners and hard-blowing attitude should lead you to know that he was, in fact, not." Then, as you progress, make it more and more in vernacular, and then keep the last section the same.

- I'll see what I can come up with. I wasn't aware that the "extreme slant" thing was all that common. I do have to admit, Charles Sumner and Gordon Ramsay have similar undercurrents. I don't think I'll civilly deride Sumner: the concept of the article was the extreme, inexplicable slant and I don't want to go back on it. I'll ponder ways of making it unique.
- In the meantime, can you remove the tag? I'm a little concerned that n00bs may see the tag and use it as an excuse to crowd the article with nonsense. I already got burned by that earlier this year. YouFang 19:16, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
