Been curious lately as to how one of mine would do on pee review. If you have a spare five minutes, any chance you could take a look? Cheers. RabbiTechno 12:40, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello Sir. Hope your well

I was just reading a post in the dump that appeared to be relevant to this question (now seams to have mysteriously disappeared from the dump???) about deletions and stuff. I just found Venus and wondered what the appropriate course of action for someone such as myself to do when I find an something like this?

I can't QVFD it cos it's too old. Can't ICU it because it's also to old. I'm not putting Stub on it as it's just not worth pissing on, and well... It's not worth having everyone bother to vote on it in VFD and... You get what I'm asking i'm sure. I'm not specifically asking what to do with this article itself, I'm sure now I have pointed it out to you, you will huff it... I'm just trying to figure out what to do in the future... Thanks. Aristocrats

Uh, how did you figure this out?

By my calculations, the results are:

1st: 15Mickey20: 78

2nd: TKF: 76.5

3rd: Zombiebaron: 74

4th: Ape TOE Thursdays: 68

5th: Enegma: 56

6th: Soso: 44

If I'd known you were going to award joint first prize to the top 3 scoring entries, it might have affected the criteria by which I judged them. Also, doesn't it say "a 3-person panel of judges shall elect one winner and two runner-ups"? I'm confused. This isn't what I was voting for. -- Sir Codeine K·H·P·B·M·N·C·U·Bu. · (Harangue) 10:30, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Well....once I added all the votes together using 5 points for 1st place, 4 for second, etc, from all three judges, we ended up with 12 points each. Looking at your scoring mechanism I think that's less likely to end in draws etc. But its not how previous PLS's were run. Perhaps we should change. :) -- Sir Mhaille Image:Icons-flag-gb.png (talk to me)

Good day sir

Please excuse the interruption, I just wondered if I could gauge you opinion on something... From what I can tell you pretty much designed the current Pee Review system, and so thought your views were very relevant to what I'm doing currently. Basically, cajek and I are trying to improve the quality of Pee review a little. You may have read our new version of the Pee-Review Guidelines... We feel that although many people give reviews which are useful some simply give scores for each category with no indication of where the scores came from, with no suggestions as to how the article could be improved. We are really trying to encourage people to say a little more in Pee Reviews... As you a member of such large size I wondered if you might consider giving your opinion on the template which we have created...

Hey, I don't mean to be a dick but...
I noticed that you had done a Pee Review of MrN Has unusually large reproductive organs. Thank you. I was wondering if you could let me know why you had given your scores, and also wondered if you had any suggestions for how the article might be improved.

Would you please consider giving another review?

Thanks!

Really Disappointed

I was enjoying it here, but 'people' like User:Cajek, User:Under user, & User:EugeneKay seem to take an anti-UK stance on any article that they don't find funny (for 'funny' read 'understand') It seems much easier to criticise than create articles - It certainly seems true of these 3. Not a lot of encouragement going on from the likes of them. Life's too short (it literally is in my case), so I'm off. You've been very helpful, though. Many thanks and Merry Christmas. --OliverKnight 18:15, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

/me just happens to be wandering past and pokes his head round the door Excuse me Sir Mhaille, but you appear to have temporarily lost his voice, perhaps you have had too much XMAS pudding, so I thought I would mention this as a fellow Brit...
I feel that I have some idea what your talking about User:OliverKnight regarding people's apparent attitudes to British humour. Those guys only understand humor whatever the hell that is... I think your on dodgy ground by saying that those particular users have an "Anti British" stance, I have spoken to all three, and would never say that they have a particularly Anti anything stance, especially not anti-British. I have read your article and as a Brit myself who remembers the whole live-aid/band-aid thing first hand I can see the humour in your parody and think you have done a good job with it. You must remember though that Uncyc is an International community of users and that people vote primarily on what they personally find funny. That's the way it should be. If an American teenager reads an article about something which happened before they were born, and may not know about anyway, it's unlikely that they will relate to the story and appreciate that parody. Everyone here gets a vote, and the democratic process (usually) works rather well. It is possible to write an article which is about a particular country which succeeds in Uncyc, I managed it with The Color Problem. This has a large number of British only jokes which a lot of non-Brits did not get. Take a look at the votes which got this article to the front page: Uncyclopedia:VFH/The_Color_Problem. You will see that Cajek and Under User both voted for me there. Although I doubt the American ordinance appreciated many of my British only jokes I managed to make it funny enough to stand on it's own right without needing to have knowledge of local history of the UK. There is a rather large population of American users in Uncyc, as is the case with the Internet in general, so you have to be careful not to be too subtle in your writing to make your work popular. Or at least make sure that if you do go the subtle route then throw in some more accessible gags which will be appreciated by everyone. I hope you understand what I'm saying...
Keep up the good work with your articles though, your doing a good job and god knows we need more Brits around here! Anyway, I had better dash before Sir Mhaille gets back and clobbers me for gassing on his talk page... MrN Image:Icons-flag-gb.png HalIcon.png WhoreMrn.png 20:25, Dec 22

When I said 'Anti-British' I was merely referring to the feeling I often get that if an article is British, it's more often than not dismissed as being unfunny by non-Brits. I just don't understand this. You're right, it is an international community, but today's featured article was the 1960 US Presidential Election and the day before that it was the 1840 US Presidential Election! But I found them both entertaining and I certainly wouldn't base a vote because I wasn't alive when it happened. I just can't fathom how the whole Band Aid thing/Live Aid thing could not be considered an international event. I'm all for embracing all types of humour from all of countries, but surely it's a two way street. I know I'm being a bit serious for a website that is humourous, and I guess I'm a bit miffed that my precious Christmassy article was despised by someone (I did work hard on it though, received help from many users and that's probably why I got a bit defensive). I'm not generally a miserable bastard, honest. It just pricked my delicate sensibilties just before Xmas - And now I've come across looking like a Big Girl's Blouse. --OliverKnight 21:29, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
