- Yeah....don't worry about your contributions to the site, you are doing really well. I know many people tend to view their standing on the site by feature-count (and its easy for me to talk as I've had a few of them) but bear in mind that it took me about 9 months before I got my first feature here. It will happen for you. Of course the longer you are here the more "tricks" you'll learn, spacing out the really funny "punchlines", comic timing, formatting, clever use of images. Potential Ban?
I'm telling you about this simply because of the volume of edits, but IP 69.138.245.3 has been doing a lot of edits to variety of articles - they even blanked a user page - that really don't make sense. I would say that most aren't vandalism, but the majority of them are terribly illogical and stupid. I would ban it for blanking teh user page - not good sportsmanship you know. - I'm not looking to get you to change your vote, but I'd have to say I disagree. Uncyclopedia was formed to spoof and satire Wikipedia, making encyclopedic style articles that, at first glance, would appear as legitimate articles, but on closer inspection reveal the comedic genius hidden within that format. Within the Hornblower article, for example, there is only a small amount of information that comes from the actual tales, most is a rather creative take on tales of that genre peppered with innuendo, double entendres and the subtle use of links to create something that I hope is worthy of the subject matter. Very little within the article actually comes from plotlines within the Hornblower stories, although it may appear to be the case. -- Sir Mhaille (talk to me)
- I understand what you're saying. One has to include allusions to the truth or articles end up nonsense. But there can be too many, and the funny drains away. I'm not saying I know exactly where that fact threshold lies. I do, however, have my own personal taste, and Horatio Hornblower struck me as not funny enough. Aparently, I'm in the minority anyway. Clarification re: Weiqi
An explanation of why I am posting this message: I have been quite busy with Caltech's school work, and I just came back home for spring break a couple of days ago. As a result, I did not consider it a worthwhile use of my time to pursue this issue. I would now like to make a small clarification.
The article was so poorly written that I didn't initially realize that "weiqi" was Go (board game). I remembered that I had played this game with my parents on several prior occasions, but my mind failed to make a connection with the game's "non-Chinese" name. As a result, I attempted to run the page through VFD without a very clear explanation, and my previous protest on your user talk page was also poorly worded. I will make no further attempts to request the article's deletion. However, I won't be able to focus my efforts on improving the article either, since I have several other pressing issues here on Uncyc and in real life.

- OK, calm down. Lot's of people aren't replying to me! SysRq was meant to do me a Pee Review and still hasn't got around to it!! Tut...Anyway, have you looked through the list of users prepared to adopt people? Have you tried Mordillo? He adopted me and he's a good dad.... Have you written any articles or done something to stand out a little bit?? The adopters don't want to adopt people that are just going to pack their bags and leave in a week or so (or have I just lied, adopters?)... Keep trying.

- Funny thing is one of my favourite self-authored articles is my Baron Ringpiece UnBook, within which the humour is in many parts exceedingly subtle. I love it because its a gentle humour, and its something I wrote for the sheer enjoyment of doing so, and it is the most effortless writing I have done on the site, it just flowed and wrote itself. Somehow it did get featured, but I remember lots of people asking what was actually funny in it?
- Maybe I'm missing something in the article, could be subtle Merkin'centric references but its really only the last section that made me smile. Maybe its just my own personal tastes? - I believe its quite fluent, but often there's a limit imposed of 20 articles. With regards to renomming an article think the usual "process" is to leave it for a month or two at least before considering it. Unless there's a groundswell of support for it.... -- Sir Mhaille (talk to me)
