Decapitation and the New Search Engine

As I attempted to search the image archives to find a suitable cover for one of this artist's albums, I discovered your nifty new search engine.

It cannnot seach by namespace unless it's metadata, there's a fuzzy seach that can't search by namespace at all either, and the help points to a page that gives instructions on how to flail about aimlessly in the upload logs to try to find images and fail miserably.

As much as I don't like NRV (or is it just that I'm still grumpy about my first article being NRVed within minutes after I saved the first iteration), is it possible to slap on one the new search system?

-- Strangelv 13:48, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you mean. You can search by namespace. Which new search thing? This search is a search for the word "album" in only the image namespace. Perhaps you were looking for the advanced search thing? Where is the help thing you read? Oh, and don't worry about NRVs, if it got put on your article right at the start it was probably just too short. A {{construction}} tag will keep NRVs off your article for a week if you're still making it. Spang 15:34, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Okay, maybe I'm not as awake as I believed I was today. So it's search metadata, not a search OF metadata. I wonder what I did wrong this morning before concluding it was the latter. Hopefully I'm more awake now, lest I end up doing something fully equivalent to spouting random nonsensical fake Oscar Wilde quotes. Thank you. -- Strangelv 19:17, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

youre kidding?

excuse me, i couldnt help but notice the stamp you placed on my Willy Mason piece. I was willing to entertain your constructive critique until i happened upon your cage entry....overdosing on kittens? thats stupid.

if this page is really supposed parody wikipedia you may want to consider contrasting the submissions against that of, guess what - wikipedia. if you had you'd have realized that my piece was a direct reference to the willy mason expose on wikipedia. so to answer your question - "why should we keep it" - let me first suggest that one reaosn to keep it is to uphold the mission of this site, a mission you as an admin. should be very familiar with. in addition, it became increasingly clear to me that you had no idea who willy mason was and had definitely not cross-referenced the piece with the mason-wiki artical. if wikipedia has it, why shouldnt we have it? after all, that is what this is all about -- remember? furthermore, id suggest you start encouraging writers who are actually following through on what this site set out to do in the first place.

its absurd that you would flag a piece as being needless when its directly influeced by the wiki artical -- right down to the fact that his mom's name really is Jamima. it was a tohughtful piece, and it was carefully/subtly executed....and its gotten many more laughs amonst my peers than your crappy cage piece.

i understand that an editor is supposed to submit a diplomatic objection to admins. but this is frustrating. if youre not going to take the time to do your job simply dont do it. this site has the potential to do great things...but not if you flag relevant work in favor of your own interests. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nicky (talk • contribs)

so what ive decided to do is place the artical 'under contrsuction' seeing as it still needs links. ill get right on it, sir/mame The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.241.203.234 (talk • contribs)

The NRV was placed for a few reasons, none to do with the name of the article. The main reason was that it is far too short. On uncyclopedia, an article that size has to be very very good to survive. Also, the formatting is pretty bad. With all the bold all over the place, it just doesn't look very nice. Lastly, the content wasn't all that great, despite what you say. I'm not there shouldn't be an article in him, just that something that goes on about how much on a cock worshipper he is isn't that funny. Trust me, I've seen it a thousand times on this wiki, and it hasn't been funny once. We try to go for satire here, which is infinitely better than hurr, he's gay.
About my article on John Cage, if you'd been around here long enough, you'd know that kitten huffing is an uncyclopedia in-joke, much like the Oscar Wilde quotes. Would you rather I was boring and say he took an overdose of drugs? If you actually think your article is more funny than mine, how come yours hasn't been featured on the main page, or mentioned in a national newspaper? In fact, the line about him dying of an overdose of kittens is exactly the line that was quoted from it in the paper. So there! Trust me, John Cage has had more laughs than Willie Mason will ever have in its current form.
I changed the NRV to a construction tag, but I'll still delete it if it isn't improved in a week. It would be a good idea to read though the beginner's guide and how to be funny and not just stupid to get a good idea of how to do that. Spang 00:28, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

okay. im sorry.

Spang is grouchy. You know, "Freebird" is a good song. The guitar solo at the end I could play better than Skynyrd himself. —Brian Barbera 20:45, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
And you're stupid. I love Freebird, but that doesn't mean you can call everyone who deletes the song lyrics you post here "grouchy". In case you hadn't noticed, this is a humour wiki. If you can explain to me how the lyrics from freebird by themselves are in any way, shape, or form funny, I would love to hear it. Oh, and there is no such person as "Skynyrd". The band was named after Leonard Skinner, their gym teacher, who told them they'd never amount to anything. Spang 00:53, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

I just like to call people "grouchy" for the fun of it. And if Lynyrd Skynyrd is a band and not a person, then who's the lead singer? —Brian Barbera 01:48, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Ronnie Van Zant was the lead vocalist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, but then he died in the plane crash, and then Johnny Van Zant took over. Allen Collins played the guitar solo at the end of "Free Bird", but then he died from pneumonia. —Gm1121983 01:53, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Redirects

Hey I just noticed in the recent changes that you huffed quite a few redirects. Are redirects frowned upon around here? Or is there some deeper meaning? This isn't meant to be insulting/criticism at all, I'm just trying to work out how this place works. Cheers, --Aaadddaaammm 07:49, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Not particularly, but try to avoid creating redirects with names that could potentially be an article in its own right later. Different spellings of words or things which have the same names should have redirects to the one main one, or a disambiguation or something. Also, I just like deleting stuff. Spang 08:04, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
Cool as, that makes sense. Good stuff, keep it up. Huff Murloc too. --Aaadddaaammm 08:07, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
I have done so. Though for the record, {{QVFD}} isn't really used anymore, you should go to QVFD and list it there if you like to do that kind of thing. Not that I really mind. They all end up in the bin anyway! Spang 08:24, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

UotY

Thank you. Tom Mayfair thought he was being funny by nom'ing me for both UGotM and UotY simultaneously. He's angling for getting a UGotM of his very own (see UGotM Talk) but I suspect if this continues, he'll just earn a ban instead.--Sir Modusoperandi 01:49, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Y'welcome. He's going the right way about getting it to be sure, but it's a fine line between that and ending up with a ban that disqualifies him from it... Spang 01:56, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Hello?

I'm not sure where I'm at, still new to this and have only contributed a few articles/reviews before. That makes me a newbie. I'm still working on a Zodiac signs article and just need time to finish it. Could it be expanded for 14 days rather than the 7 day time slot, before it's trashed? I just need more time, that's all. In the end it's really not that important but I thought this site needed a sun sign article. I have some great ideas. Again, I just need more time. Also I'm still trying to figure out how to put in a little menu box so people can just click to the whatever sign...or maybe we can make different pages for all the signs? I'll provide the content if only someone would help me make it look good. --Nacky 18:57, 18 September 2006 (UTC)Nacky

Its looking quite nice already, the 7 day tag is usually there to focus on shorter stub entries, but with a little bit more work (images, etc) you'll have yourself a pretty decent article there. I'll change the tag to a construction one for you, give you time to add to it. -- Sir Mhaille Image:Icons-flag-gb.png (talk to me)

MWH

Spang, is there a way of forcing a linked word to appear in a differnet colour, specifically in a userbox? Also, is there a way of forcing a template to align in the centre of a page, preferably without align="center" which I can't get to work...

And I suppose while I'm here is there a way of using a userbox and not displaying the automatic category addition at the bottom of the page?

Sorry to bug you with it - if there's a handy guide to MW anywhere you can point me to, please do... Freemorpheme.gif 17:36, 20 September 2006 (UTC) Actually I've worked out the category thing, which should have been glaringly obvious immediately. And I've sort of centralised it. It's on my userpage anyway if you want a squint. Freemorpheme.gif 23:29, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

I fixed your template, so it looks ok now. At least that's what I assume you wanted it to look like. And to get links to display different colours, you need to put the text inside the link in an html span and set the colour there, like [[target|<span style="color: xyz">link text</span>. And to center a template, you need to set the left and right margins to auto. Top and bottom margins can still be anything you want.
I can't think of any guides to mediawiki apart from the wikipedia help pages. Best thing to to, especially with templates, is to find something similar to what you want that someone has already made, and try to copy what's been done there. Spang 08:45, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Cheers, Spang, it's appreciated. Freemorpheme.gif 17:37, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

How did you find that missing /div? That was terribly funny by the way.-- Sir Severian (Sprich mit mir!) 02:32, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

I used my super magic super admin super powers. Which are super. And I can't tell if that's sarcasm or not, so I'm just going to assume you actually did find it funny! In which case, you're welcome. If not, sorry :) Spang 02:39, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

I think you have a code genie or something, and you cruise user talk pages in search of ellusive /div's. It makes your powers grow.-- Sir Severian (Sprich mit mir!) 03:23, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

It's not that hard, on firefox when a tag is unclosed, is messes up the tabs and sidebar, so whenever I see a page like that, it's not too hard just to look and see where the extra <div or whatever is, and fix it. Um, I mean, yes it was a genie. Spang 03:41, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Then my second question is why were you on my talk page? you weren't going to leave me some love? I don't actually remember. Probably something very important though. Happy birthday! I shall go forth and leave some love on your talk page right now! Just hope it cleans off afterwards. Spang 04:22, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

I'd like to know why you removed my ICU tag, since this is clearly a NRV or even VFD material? Thanks. -- Sir Mordillo Image:Icons-flag-il.png GUN WotM FP UotM AotM MI AnotM VFH +S 08:22, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

I'd consider it more of a case for {{expand}}. Looks like I forgot to put that on though. It has a page's worth of text which is mostly coherent and an image (admittedly a small one), so it doesn't have no redeeming value. I just don't think it was bad enough for deletion by NRV. Spang 02:35, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Two requests

I have two requests...

For one, can you permanantly lock my user and talk pages? They as you can see redirect back to my wiki page, and mainly I know there are a lot of naive people here (inlcuding me lol) that would most likely get a kick out of vandalizing the user (and more likely) the talk page. :)

For two, can you possibly beat the crap out of the Simtropolis article? It's only a hate page made by that guy, I guess he got banned from there or something. Not to mention the page has little to no humor in it. --RedPooka 07:25, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

One: Sure, I'll do that in after I finish this reply. Though if it's because you're leaving the site, sorry for whatever made you want to leave, always sad to see someone go. If not, ignore that last sentence ;)
Two: Sorry, the page is too long to delete on sight or NRV, and doesn't seem to obviously violate any policies, so you'd have to send it to VFD instead, and make your case for its deletion there. Spang 07:34, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Ok thanks for locking them, and I beleive I'll be staying here wot wot? And... :O looks like they've already nuked that page or something! Oh well. --RedPooka 19:23, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
I looked at the logs and it appears Famine huffed it (http://uncyclopedia.org/index.php?title=Special:Log&user=&page=Simtropolis). --RedPooka 19:25, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
OK, you're welcome. And Famine is good at deleting stuff and blocking people other admins are hesitant to! Spang 00:06, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Technical question

Hya,

I created a new version of my user page and I wanted to move the current one to a new location user:mordillo/mordillo1.0 or something like that, and then move the new one to the main user page. Do you think it's too complicated and I should just copy paste the codes? Thanks. -- Sir Mordillo Image:Icons-flag-il.png GUN WotM FP UotM AotM MI AnotM VFH +S 22:46, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi there, I just moved them for you. The old one's at User:Mordillo/Mordillo 1.0. You can move that somewhere else to change capitalisation or something if you want. And it's usually preferred that you move pages rather than copy/paste them, as the licence really requires that the histories of articles are preserved, though nobody's going to chase you up if you do that.
Moving's probably less hassle than copy/pasting anyway, though you wouldn't have been able to do it in this case, as it involved deleting the redirect left by moving the original page. For future reference though, it's as simple as clicking "move" then typing the new name and pressing OK. Spang 22:59, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Damn, you're efficient! :) I knew about the moving option, but figured it would be more complicated than the usual move....Thanks a load! -- Sir Mordillo Image:Icons-flag-il.png GUN WotM FP UotM AotM MI AnotM VFH +S 23:02, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Why did you huff Marvin Harrison? Apparently you didn't visit his page via Peyton Manning's... 69.9.228.209 19:43, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Because it didn't count as an article, as it was only one short sentence. Here, an article needs to not only be funny, but also as encyclopaedic as possible if it is to survive. All one sentence "articles" are deleted on sight, except a few notable exceptions. Sorry! You're welcome to write a full article though. If you need more time to make it long enough, add the {{construction}} template. Note this will only buy you a week of time. If you need longer, work on it at a subpage of your userspace, eg User:Name/subpage. Also, it's a good idea to read through the beginner's guide and HTBFANJS if you haven't already. Hope that helps! Question

I noticed, after your recommendation for the complete watchlist view, that the following articles on my watchlist have disappeared (without warning... I don't know when, though). Any way to find out who deleted them, and how (if at all) they could be restored?

I'm especially mad about the first five being wiped out, because I had a discussion on a talk page with someone who once flagged them for deletion because of their short length, and they ended up deciding that they acted in haste, and they're good to keep. -- Rei 23:55, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

You can check the logs for the page, and that'll tell you who deleted it and why. I'll restore them for now, but they are pretty short. Maybe you should consider moving them to Undictionary, or making them a bit longer, perhaps add an extra section or two. Or you could consolidate them into one article. Or leave a note on the talk page saying they are short, but are funny anyway. Adding one of those "series" sidebar templates with all the others linked would probably help, to show they're not just random one-liners on their own.
It looks like Hindleyite got the first one, and Todd Lyons got the rest except the redirect. The redirect was deleted by Mhaille, but only after the article it linked to was deleted, which is normal practice for broken redirects. Looks like Todd went through most things in the stub category, deleting the short ones.
It might be a good idea to keep a close eye on them during forest fire week, and maybe keep a spare copy of them in a user subpage just in case. Spang 00:42, 22 Nov 2006
Undictionary is probably the appropriate choice for them; articles on SI units don't have too much potential to grow. Constructa does, but only over time as new species are added and an evolutionary history can be developed. Thanks, Spang. -- Rei 16:30, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

And now that I've calmed down slightly...

Spang! You've once again proven your supreme admin-worthiness today, not that I'm trying to curry favor here or anything. But there's one more request I feel compelled to make regarding this new NavHeader thingy. As it is now, you need two NavFrames on the page for them to be "collapsed" by default. Others may disagree, but IMO we'd be better off without such burdensome requirements... I believe this would mean changing this one line in uncyclopedia.js (near the top of the NavHeader section):

var NavigationBarShowDefault = 1;

...so as to set the variable to 0 (zero) instead. (At least that's how it looks to me, anyway. Jibba-Jabbascript was never my favorite language!) Also, I think you've got an innate talent for revert-warring. Waiting until 2 AM US Central Time to make your next attempt was precisely the right move, I suspecky. And if that doesn't work, we could always try "tag-teaming" — apparently that's what they do over at Wikipedia to avoid the dreaded "3RR violation" problem when they want to "POV-push." Anyway, thanx!  c • > • cunwapquc? 09:37, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

No, carry on, my ego isn't nearly big enough yet. Just changed the javascript bit, they're all hidden by default now. Yeah, revert warring is pretty fun, no wonder they do it all the time at wikipedia! Although I haven't quite resorted to using sockpuppets yet, but I think I'm only one revert away from winning the three revert rule. As a tag team we'd be unstoppable! Spang 11:25, 27 Nov 2006

Hey there

Just wanted to drop you a friendly note to let you know that reverting bans is ok, so long as you talk to the admin who gave it first and come to an agreement that the ban was unjust/too long/whatever reason it needs to be taken down. I think you've kinda pissed off Hinoa by undermining his authority in the way you unbanned a user without consulting him about it first. I thought I'd leave you this note since you're kinda in hot water with several of the admins anyway for running off one of the most useful admins we've ever had, and if you run off another extremely useful admin, it'd be a second strike against you in many admins' books. I figured it'd be nicer to let you know beforehand than letting you find out when when they started rolling out the guillotine...--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 14:49, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Bradley, I don't mean any disrespect, but I'm afraid you've gotten the sequence of events wrong. I was the only user blocked as a result of last night's events, so presumably this refers to me, but please have a look at the timestamps:
01:24, 2 December 2006 Hinoa4 (Talk | contribs) m (I have better things to do than deal with fucktards. See you around.)
02:45, 2 December 2006 Elvis blocked "Some user (contribs)" with an expiry time of 1 month (Fuck it had enough of his bullshit, actual breaking UN:OFFICE)
02:45, 2 December 2006 Elvis blocked "Some user (contribs)" with an expiry time of 1 month (Fuck it had enough of his bullshit)
06:08, 2 December 2006 Spang unblocked Some user (contribs) (Reason for blocking null and void. The UN:OFFICE rules were implemented /after/ what the block was for.)
I'm not saying Spang wasn't instrumental in causing Hinoa to get pissed off, but I was probably more instrumental than he was, and if one or two people — even admins — get pissed off and temporarily (I hope) leave in the process of finally ending this whole "iPods" fiasco, then maybe, just maybe, it isn't quite as bad as letting the situation continue to fester, on and on, for another year or even longer. As for me, I'm committed to holding up my end of any bargain made that ultimately involves eliminating unwanted user references in that article, but it would be easier for me to do that if everyone calmed down (including myself) and tried to get some perspective on things. Anyway, sorry to butt in.  c • > • cunwapquc? 16:38, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Ah, so indeed you're right. I should have payed closer attention. I was trying to find the why and wherefore behind the massive amounts of anger I've noticed is flowing Spang's way, and that seemed a very just reason to be upset with him, but you're right, I had the order wrong. The fact remains that Spang seems to be causing (or at very least is being blamed for) a significant amount of frustration by many different major contributors for what seems to be greatly varied reasons, and that seems to be evidence of a greater problem that should be resolved. It's often the case that where there is conflict, some compromise must be made, but I'm not sure how this will be resolved. What I do know is that people shouldn't be rash and making quick decisions about things that can be solved simply by telling people what they can/cannot do. In this instance, it's important to discuss why a ban is being lifted before it's taken down. In a similar instance earlier in the year where I removed a ban Tompkins placed, I made a point to discuss why I thought the ban was unwarranted with him first. The reason I took it to Spang's talkpage is the same reason I took that discussion to the forum, since I despise back-door discussions on important things that affect the community (such as important contributors leaving the wiki). Not everyone agrees with me on this, but there it is.
Also, SU, you've always been respectful toward me (at least, as far as I know ;) ). As such, if you ever want to discuss mistakes I've made, correct me where I'm wrong, bring up concerns on issues you believe I might be able to correct, or ask for help in a matter, you are free to be contact me. I appreciate polite honesty, and while I've seen you get very impolite with others, you've always been polite with me, so I still hold hope that we can all forgive each other, get along, and move on to other great contributions on this, the only site on the internet I give a fork about.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 19:09, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for bringing it up on my talk page first, Brad, I respect that. But as far as I can see, all I did was disagree with Hinoa's decision to implement special rules for one side of the euroipods discussion, seemingly all by himself. If he can't take criticism for his actions, maybe he should be taking a break. As I said on my second desysopping thread, I don't give any more weight to admins just because they are admins; I believe everyone has an equal standing, and if I think someone has done something wrong, I'll let them know, admin or not. And I did bring this up with Hinoa right after he did it, right under where he said he'd done it in the euroipods forum thread. I just told him straight out that I disagreed with his actions, maybe I was a bit to snarky about it, but it seems he just didn't take too well to me disagreeing with his actions.
If you can point me to a specific action or message you find questionable, I'll give an explanation for it if possible, and an apology if I can't. Simple as that. Once again, thanks for bringing it up with me on my talk page, rather than starting a VD topic about it. Spang 20:56, 2 Dec 2006

Edit defense

awwww!!! :D bless ur lil cotton socks.

don't blame Insineratehymn, to the untrained eye my recent edit could be classed as drivel or rubbish :D

personally I blame the wine! --Ceridwyn 07:17, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Hehe. I figured someone would see your edits and revert them thinking they were vandalism sooner or later. But don't worry, they're safe as long as I can still edit here! Spang 07:56, 4 Dec 2006
Hmmm, edits which appear to be vandalism but are in fact, not! Sounds like a new power to me... --Ceridwyn 08:00, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Ooh, that power sounds mighty trifling... Spang 08:01, 4 Dec 2006
NOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Not..../gasp....TRIFLING! I'm just /hitched breath not...ready for trifling powers, because with them comes.../pained look...trifling responsibilities! --Ceridwyn 08:06, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
So tempted to change that hatehate template just to the hate one :P oh and i got a nice random this refresh:
"I have often been described as "somewhat similar to a belittling cuddly toy". I once liked to sniff stuff, but since You constructed George Washington, I now mostly earn squids." --Ceridwyn 08:23, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
You may not think it, but I think you're ready now. You just have to believe in yourself, man, and the trifling power will come with it!
Yeah, the random thing can be pretty good sometimes :) And funnily enough, I do mostly earn squids now. Weird.
Hey, how about adding both, right next to each other? There's some contradictory fun right there! Plus I do hate myself. And, I'm already in both the male users and female users categories, so more things that don't make sense can't hurt! Spang 08:30, 4 Dec 2006
Hmmmm both WOULD be hilarious, I think I shall... yeah I did notice the ambiguous/androgynous group membership there.
As for the squids I guess you are right! I didn't think of quids-squids, just actual squid-squids. thoughts of a template are blossoming.
RE:being ready for trifling power, I'm still not convinced, and technically that should read: "You just have to believe in yourself, woman, and the trifling power will come with it!" but then who am I to quibble with s/he who aligns themselves with both genders. All I know is I'm not you, nor am I Mhaille (yes, days of musing on this topic have assured me on both counts.) --Ceridwyn 08:43, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
I actually meant actual squids. It was a lie though. It also would be a lie in the money-making sense too, but I can always pretend.
Oh, and I meant "man" in the hippy way, the kinda non-gender specific way. Saves me typing two extra letters! I'm lazy in a very complicated way. I'm sure you'll know when you're ready for trifling power... best stick with the trivial for now then, until you're ready for the trifling responsibility!
And I'm glad you're not me or Mhaille, no offence to mhaille, but that Spang's eeevil. Spang 09:05, 4 Dec 2006
In the interests of aesthetics I've decided to undent one edit at a time so this forms a lovely arc back around.
Earning actual squids would be awesome. I wish I was. I'm not earning either sadly.
The irony of being too lazy to type "wo" is that now you've had to type much more than 2 letters in the explanation/defense of the lack thereof. Take that hippy!
I think given the appropriate amount of time I may be ready, but as I apparently can't be trusted to use the Move button and therefore right yet another trivial wrong, I can't see that that time has arrived.
I too am glad, I heard that everyone hates Spang. Even Spang does, according to his user page. Maybe I still could be Mhaille? --Ceridwyn 09:19, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Heh, talk page aesthetics sounds like another trivial power to me!
I imagine getting paid in squid would be all fun until you decide you need to eat, and you can't cook said squid because the power companies don't take squid as payment. And squid don't pay the rent neither!
I did say I was lazy in a complicated way! That includes believing that the time saved missing out 2 letters is worth the many more explaining that, and the more explaining my special laziness. Totally worth it.
Yes, in time you'll be ready... though I think the move power will be granted very soon, unless I'm very much mistaken.
I'm pretty sure you're not mhaille now, as your userpage tells me you hate users who hate me, and he definitely doesn't do that! So I think you're safe there for now... Spang 18:29, 4 Dec 2006
If you were to build a fire out of dried quid (possibly last months pay check, this months is too fresh still, and we'l be using that later...) and cook the more fresh squid, for example this months pay (see!) atop the fire, then one could consume the charred flesh of the fresher squid, providing important nutrients and proteins in a process also known as eating.
I'd say thats more than 'complicated' I'd go so far as to say that laziness of this caliber warrants the title 'sophisticated.'
Well technically, I didn't put that there, I asked for EITHER the I hate users who hate Spang tag OR the I hate Spang tag. You can blame Tooltroll for that one. Technically he could put it on Mhaille's page too, which voids your argument for why I am in fact not Mhaille. --Ceridwyn 22:39, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Wow, this eating sounds fun. But I'm not sure the squid would like it.
Aha, I like "sophisticated laziness". I'd make myself some kind of award, but, y'know, I'm too lazy.
This is interesting... perhaps you are actually Tooltroll? Or any number of other people? Maybe you should go on one of those self-discovery things, and let me know when you find out. Spang 06:24, 5 Dec 2006
Whether the squid enjoys it or not is neither here nor there, the squid was payment, it is nought more than a form of currency. Its feelings are irrelevant.
You know, I had no such questions about my identity prior to coming here, I think you all want to confuse me. I know who I am. But I'm not telling :P Anyway, I can't be Trolltoll if you look at the evidence, he edited my user-page, and I have sworn an vow to not edit my user-page, so I can't be him, unless schizophrenia or alternate accounts create loopholes in the vow.
I'm considering making you a sophisticatedly lazy award, but I'm terribly busy writing my piece on Kralnor so can't right now :P
Maybe I'll just pinch a different award and change the words? --Ceridwyn 21:31, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Well, so long as the squid go peacefully, I'm sure I could live with it.
Yes, confusing you has been my aim all along. Soon you'll be more confused than you've ever been, and then I can brainwash you. I haven't decided what for yet, but it will be decidedly evil, no doubt.
I love awards, I'll do anything for one. And stealing another award and just changing the words I think is appropriately lazy for an award for laziness!
And that kralnor article is coming along nicely! Looking good so far. Spang 04:08, 6 Dec 2006
Oh noes, only one more un-dent left before we have to begin re-denting!
You may help the squids along however you please, but it does modify the flavour somewhat unfortunately.
I'm certain your nefarious schemes to brainwash me shall not succeed sir for i gird my brains with cheese.
As for awards I have some ideas, but as mentioned earlier, Kralnor is taking up all my time.
On that note, do you really think it has potential? I think its becoming awfully long, but I am very proud of my "not at Wikipedia" template! Its veritably squee-worthy!
If you can think of any suggestions or tips for it, please feel free to leave them on its talk page! I would be most honoured!
My main concern with it at this stage is when is it ready to be moved into main article space. I'm rather nervous about my first article being ridiculed =/ --Ceridwyn 04:27, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Aha! I got back to the margin first! I think I should win something. Maybe squid. Although undenting past the left hand side is technically possible, it might not be a good idea. How do you know my brainwashing scheme doesn't take the cheese into account? Or perhaps uses it in some way? Or maybe I'm just saying that so you no longer trust the cheese? My powers of confusion are strong, you see.

As for Kralnor, I don't play WoW, so I know next to nothing about the subject, so I don't know if I could help with the content. I can offer general editing tips though. It is pretty long, so make sure to keep the readers interested through it. Maybe some pictures if possible. Don't worry about it being ridiculed, I pretty sure it won't be :) Take a look at some of the new pages we get, and you'll see that yours is already like 100 times better than the majority of those already! Spang 05:02, 6 Dec 2006

Congratulations to you for being the official first recipient of the Squid Award!, although we probably could have worked out who would hit the margin again first from the time I started un-denting :P still its award worthy. you award whore you!
Your powers of confusion are indeed strong, but this cheese is blue cheese, so you must try harder than that!
I don't think that not-playing WoW should be a problem when it comes to Kralnor, his teachings have wisdom we can all benefit from :D anyway the bulk of the content is made up really. only the three posts he wrote aren't, the rest is gibberish either by me or other nutty warlock types, so i think anyone should be able to read along with it. as for the length im struggling to see where i could cut it down, so ill resort to adding more pictures in an attempt to keep the flow going, probably once i have finished the text though. Thanks for the compliment, even if the others are shite, it makes me feel better that at least mine is 100 times better than shite! --Ceridwyn 23:47, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Hooray! An award for me! My day is made. Thanks!
Aha, my confusion is working already! Because that cheese is green.
As for Kralnor, I shall try to apply his wisdom to my life as best as I can. I don't think you need to cut the article down as long as it keeps people's interest which it probably will do. And being at least 100 times better than shite is more than most people manage in their whole time here! Spang 09:02, 7 Dec 2006
Glad my meagre award made your day. I'm considering making a little "This user" template too for your growing number of categories to belong to.
"as long as it keeps people's interest which it probably will do" /gasp! That would indicate that you didn't stay up all night feverishly devouring the details of Kralnor's Simultaneously Third and Fourth Gospels! or reading about the Minor Prophets! What about "Winning converts to Kralnoricism" ?! Blasphemer! ;P
Just think, What Would Kralnor Do? and remember, don't report him, he might get in trouble! :)
--Ceridwyn 22:03, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Heh, that's ok. I haven't made my own award to give, but I may make one up sometime, for starting this nice arc shaped conversation.
Sorry, most of my time is taken up with worshipping satan, which is a lot more time consuming than one would think. I have hardly any time these days to read about other people. Perhaps I will consider converting to Kralnoricism, though Satan may not like that. Spang 04:29, 9 Dec 2006
The arc is indeed coming along quite nicely, no award necessary, just the lovely shape of it is reward enough. As for being busy, thats understandable, The Big Red Guy must be a demanding boss at this time of year, no wait, wrong big red guy. He may not like it, but surely in the interests of research he wouldn't mind? In the immortal words of Zach de la Rocha; "Yeah! Know your enemy! Come on!" --Ceridwyn 05:21, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
A beautiful arc it is. Oh, both the big red guys are in fact the same guy. Ever wondered why the names were so similar? It's all part of a smear campaign by this hippy Jesus dude, just because he didn't get any presents for being bad one year. But I shall do my best to apply the teachings of Kralnor to my life, and also the teachings of Rage Against the Machine. Spang 02:53, 11 Dec 2006
Ah, it all becomes clear now, I had always suspected their involvement...And I'm sure Kralnor would approve of RATM as medititive music. so long as you LOOK IT OVER. Can't think of anymore to say, too tired! --Ceridwyn 04:07, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
I can't think of anything more to add to this conversation other than the fact that I want to keep this lovely arc going, so that it might one day turn into a wave. Which would be cool. Spang 01:21, 20 Dec 2006
Me either really :D Perhaps we need new topics to discuss? The squid seem to be exhausted now... --Ceridwyn 06:20, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Yes, the squid are probably quite finished now. They should work on their stamina or something. As for what topics to discuss to keep this arc going, I have no idea. Maybe we could discuss the economic climate in Peru, or maybe tell tales of past adventures in exotic far away places, or maybe talk about the weather. The possibilities are surely endless! Spang <
