- I don't think that article would be appropriate for anything other than a parody/satire encyclopedia, it's a relatively known university and the article was largely a satire of the Wikipedia entry. How is that a violation of the policy? The spirit of that seems to be in the same spirit as the Wikipedia policy, which is to avoid agents of the entry's subject using the encyclopedia for advertising or promotional purposes. Also, wouldn't it be reasonable to tag it for speedy deletion and see if anyone else has any opinions on it? Rev joshua 03:26, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- At Uncyclopedia we have a different vanity policy (which I assume you have read). It is in place not only so that people won't advertise, but also so that the literaly thousands of articles that state something along the lines of "Someone I know sucks", will get deleted. That is what your article is. Vanity. It is full of jokes that would probably make the person in the dorm next to you (if you go to ETSU, and live in a dorm, as I assume) would find funny, but the rest of the internet does not. If you can create an article that the internet finds funny about ETSU, then it can stay. --Major Sir Zombiebaron GUN • WotM • UotM • PotM • AotM • EGAEDM • UPotM • MAFE • ZotM • IotM • VotM • UGotM (shout) 03:31, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

- To clarify, I dropped out of ETSU four years ago. Yes, the article would be funny to other ETSU students, but the article also relies heavily on the stereotype/gospel truth that Southerners are stupid and the universal experience of going to a badly-run public school more interested in spending money they don't have on athletics than academics. You wouldn't actually have to attend ETSU to get that. Also, I'd think a 90-year old state university with a population of 12,000+ students might have a slightly broader appeal than "someone I know," making it less a violation of the spirit of the vanity policy than a violation of the letter. And we might know if the Internet finds the article funny if it was left up for more than, say, five minutes. Rev joshua 03:45, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- As a ETSU drop out, your page is vanity to the letter. Also, not everyone has been to a "badly-run public school". I for instance did not attend any such instutution. --Major Sir Zombiebaron GUN • WotM • UotM • PotM • AotM • EGAEDM • UPotM • MAFE • ZotM • IotM • VotM • UGotM (shout) 15:46, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Jawarlalal Nehru
Hey dude, why exactly did you tag my Nehru article? I know its pretty short, but I was hoping people with more creativity and more time on their hands than I would make it longer and funnier.--24.125.42.37 02:46, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- I tagged it because it is random, that is, it makes no sense and is to far from the truth to be funny. No one will make it better for you, because not only is Jawarlala not a real person (and hence there are no real facts to draw humor from), but also there are no clear paths to funny that can be drawn from the present article. Maybe HTBFANJS will help you write your article. --Major Sir Zombiebaron GUN • WotM • UotM • PotM • AotM • EGAEDM • UPotM • MAFE • ZotM • IotM • VotM • UGotM (shout) 02:59, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
Necrophilia
You tagged an article I wrote, Necrophilia, as having No Redeeming Value... I'm just curious as to what exactly it is you thought was wrong with it. I've had several other people look at it and they all thought it was a good chuckle, so, I'm curious to see what your apparent dislike is. -Painezor 23:10, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- It makes no sense. While I do have respect for surreal humor, "your" acticle is a rambling story about a guy named Phil. First make as coherant story, and then layer the jokes on. Also, the coherent story should be inherantly funny. Maybe reading HTBFANJS will help too. --Major Sir Zombiebaron GUN • WotM • UotM • PotM • AotM • EGAEDM • UPotM • MAFE • ZotM • IotM • VotM • UGotM (shout) 23:21, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- I think you may have missed the jokes in the article entirely. Also, what's the deal with putting "your" in quotes like that? Are you implying I'm plagarising? I don't like the fact that you're implying I'm just being stupid, if several other people found humor in the article whilst you didn't, does that mean the problem is with the article? Different people have different senses of humor, but just because one person doesn't get it, it doesn't mean that the article has no redeeming value. The joke about "Phil" is just a play on words, necro*phil*ia, *phil*anthropists, It doesn't matter what his name was, it's all just part of an ongoing joke. -Painezor 23:30, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- I will address your points one by one.
- 1) "Your": This is a wiki, and hence you do not have ownership over any article or picture. It is "our" article, but for simplicity, I said "your". I doubt you plagerised it, because I checked.
- 2) I never said you were stupid. In fact, due to your ability to find and post on my talk page you are smarter then the average user.
- 3) If you feel I am in the wrong, go ask anouther admin for their opinion. If you want an active admin, I suggest the admins whose names appear in amongst the other users on this page.
- 4) I only mentioned Phil's name to show I had read the article. I don't care what you name your character.
- 5) UnBooks may be a better place for your article. --Major Sir Zombiebaron GUN • WotM • UotM • PotM • AotM • EGAEDM • UPotM • MAFE • ZotM • IotM • VotM • UGotM (shout) 23:37, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- And in return, I will address your points in a somewhat sporadic manner.
- 2) Linking to that "Not just stupid" page (which I read) didn't make it seem that way, and after reading that page my stance remains unchanged, because of this reason:: The article is about a cult who are necrophiliacs, and they take part in what is defined in the dictionary as necrophiliacs, it is not patent nonsense, it is a slant on necrophilia.
- 3) No need for that, as another admin already removed the ICU tag, without me saying anything to him/her.
- 5) Why would Necrophilia be better placed on unbooks when Christianity and Judaism both have articles in Mainspace? -Painezor 23:58, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't name that page, its a shame if the name offended you. Also, UnBooks is a place for stories, such as yours. Information, styled in a Wikipediatic manner goes in the Mainspace. --Major Sir Zombiebaron GUN • WotM • UotM • PotM • AotM • EGAEDM • UPotM • MAFE • ZotM • IotM • VotM • UGotM (shout) 00:29, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, looking at it, only the first two sections are a story, and even that is written in an encyclopedic manner (the history of necrophilia) and the rest is background etc, fitting with the religion-slant of the article. I don't know if it's been improved since the above comments were made, but anyway, I don't think they're true for the article as it currently stands. While it's not the greatest article in Uncyclopedia, it's pretty damn good for a first try. --

Golden Path
Hi. I noticed an article you tagged as being in need of work, Golden Path, and changed it from a 1 sentence article to a 3 paragraph article as well as adding an image and I was hoping that you would allow me to remove the tag saying that the article should be edited within 7 days. You can respond here or on my talk page.
Thank you.

- While it is much better in terms of length, it is very very ugly. Look at all those red links, and fix them (it doesn't need so many links). --Major Sir Zombiebaron GUN • WotM • UotM • PotM • AotM • EGAEDM • UPotM • MAFE • ZotM • IotM • VotM • UGotM (shout) 04:04, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Pythagorean Theorem
Hey, I noticed you put the ICU template on my Pythagorean Theorem article. That's cool with me.
Now, I'm new to Uncyclopedia, and I'm looking for some guidance. What would you do specifically to change that article to make it better?
Any comments would be appreciated, and thanks for the input.
Realdeal 55 03:40, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- Basically, you just explain something your math teacher taught you. With almost no jokes. Its not funny. At all. So yah, how about adding jokes? If you need help read HTBFANJS. --Major Sir Zombiebaron GUN • WotM • UotM • PotM • AotM • EGAEDM • UPotM • MAFE • ZotM • IotM • VotM • UGotM (shout) 03:43, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
I agree with above comment. Nice info on Pythagorean Theorem, but no very humor. Also, randomly saying Fuck does not mean we will laugh our heads off, you know. Like I said before, nice info, but try to mess with the info a bit in a funny fassion so as to make the reader laugh.
General Tso's Chicken 03:51, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, guys. Looks like it's back to the cutting room floor. Yeah, you're both right. In hindsight, it was pretty dry. Like, very dry. So I'll try again. In all honesty, it can only get better, right...? Right? : P
I had one of those really boring days, today. Maybe I'll be inspired when I get back into math class next semester (which starts tomorrow).
I'm keeping the lead section, though. I was happy with that.
Thanks again for giving me a slap to read it again. : P
