Because of their incurable biases, the so-called experts at Wikipedia will probably never have an article about Wiggaz With Attitude. We are sorry they insist on being this lame.

Wiggaz With Attitude (WWA) is are the founding fathers of Vigilante Rap. Originally from Stamford, Connecticut, the group was founded in 1986. Notorious for their lack of offensive lyrics and inapropriate posturing, the group failed to make significant headway into mainstream culture. Currently the group still gigs on a regular basis in Stamford.

[edit] History

[edit] Origin

English DJ Tim Westwood is creditted with spotting the group at one of their early performances in J.M. Wright Technical High School, Stamford. Highly impressed with their distinctive style of rapping he immediately had the group signed to Deaf Jam Records after a successful audition with Rick Rubin. Both were highly impressed with the groups take on Law Enforcement and current affairs, and were attracted to their clean-cut image which was enjoying a surge in popularity.

[edit] Members

WWA holds the record for the most....uninportant membership ever in the history of membership organisations. It is widely believed that even uninportant groups such as the rake and hoe collection organization, the pipe cleaner appreciation society and the Catholic Church have more important members such as Grace Nowell from Stamford Le Hope and The Pope #21. WWA also has a lot of members. -Ghost Face Petty criminal -Flavor Caucasian -Consultant Dre -Tim Westwood -Fred Durst -Martin -Ian Beale -Theo Pasitezringadingadingalingpaprikastellios of Dragons Den* -P Father -Jay Zed -Barack Obama -Vanilla in colour only -Shakespeare -Grant Michell but not Phil as he is in NWA as an honorary nigga -Peggy Michell -Dirty Den -Roy from the Rovers Return -George Galaway -Honky Trev -Ol' unhygienic tory

[edit] The World's Least Dangerous Group

The group were sent into the recording studio immediately where they set about recording their seminal debut album, 'Straight Outta Stamford'. Released in 1988 the album highlighted the problems facing the impoverished white middle classes. For many it was a wake up call, highlighting the number of middle class people struggling to find a full complement of house staff. The record entered The Billboard 200 at number 8, before gaining continued success over a sustained period of time eventually going Platinium despite having no airplay as the albums recurring themes were at odds with the liberal media, who preferred to promote the ironic escapism of NWA, and the diminishing California Gangsta Rap scene. The album also scored highly on the Hot 100 Billboard Chart, as well as internationally with the hit singles 'Control Yourself', 'Parental Discretion Iz Unneccesary' and the Grammy Winning 'Help tha Police'. The band also won Grammies for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Rap performance by a duo or group, Best Rap, Best Rap Album and, controversially, Best Gospel Song for 'Something 2 Dance 2'.

However the success was not to last. Shortly after the awards ceremony Vanilla Ice left over royalty disputes, having written none of the 'Stamford' album himself but not getting more than half of all royalties. He wasted little time putting together his solo debut which included one of the finest Support Records ever recorded 'No Vaseline?' In a series of verses, Vanilla Ice addressed the group and then Uncle Tom, Consultant Dre and especially Tim Westwood individually, using intelligent compliments to describe their unequal business relationship, and wish the group future success: "Take heed I'm a lyrical poet, Wishin' you the best in case you didn't know it."

[edit] Today

The band is currently a popular live draw across Conneticut, mainly playing in the Stamford Area. In 1995 Consultant Dre added PHD to his CV (reference from a brief stint working in Pizza Hut Deliveries). He is currently one of Hip-hop's least sought out producers after a string of poorly received albums he produced. Vanilla Ice has not rejoined with WWA despite numerous rumours to suggest so, currently he is America's most successful Queen and David Bowie tribute act. DJ Yoda left the group from 1995 until 1998 to study English and American Literature at the University of Warwick. Uncle Tom has established himself as a political powerhouse within Stamford, after throwing his weight behind the 1992 Ross Perot Presidential Campaign. Tim Westwood is currently engaged to long time partner Adam First, he divides his time between WWA and his business commitments in the UK.

[edit] What Did WWA stand for?

There is a debate amongst some fans about what WWA stood for. Whilst Most accept 'Wiggaz With Attitude', some believe it stood for, 'World Wrestling Alliance' whilst others believe it stood for, 'World Waterpark Association'. Westwood claimed it stood for 'Westwood Will Amaze' but this has been discreditted as shameless plugging of his underground radio and television shows. The most credible alternative which has been put forward, and mentioned by Rick Rubin in his biography 'Wiggaz With Aptitude', aptitude in reference to the performers unusually high SAT scores.
