Following this, Ward's original company purchased several smaller businesses and as such, the Ward Technologies Corporation conglomerate was born.

[edit] Rumoured involvement in LA suitcase nuke crisis
Nothing has been confirmed, but there have been rumours that the UAV's that would have been used by renegade Russian General Dmitri Gredenko[2] to deploy some of the nukes into populated areas were in fact DERTS 458 class UAV's designed and built by the Ward Technologies Corporation. Even more troubling still are rumours that Stuart sold the devices to Gredenko having full knowledge of what he planned to do with them. Apparently Stuart was willing to sell them to Gredenko as long as he agreed to destroy a Stark Enterprises facility just outside of LA, this action would annihilate a key facility of one of the WTC's biggest rival companies.
According to a report from CTU, Phillip Bauer[3] was shot dead by his Grandson,Josh, following the successful unravelling and foiling of the suitcase nuke plot. Some people believe that it was in fact the Chameleon, having shapeshifted into Josh, whom killed Phillip on Stuart's orders in order to cover up the WTC's involvement with BXJ or Gredenko.
[edit] Rumours of the WTC's involvement with arms dealing, funding terrorism and being a legitimate front for organized crime
Ever since the suitcase nuke crisis was resolved, various elements of the US Government, most notably the FBI, have begun to look more deeply into Ward Technologies Corporation's dealings, they have thus far stated that the WTC seem to be supplying arms to renegade forces in both Qumar and across the Middle East, financially backing the violent, militant, extremist political movement The Global Soviet Hardliner Nationalist Party and acting as a money laundering enterprise for several Mafia organisations, most notably, the Brassi Crime Family.
