Wikidemia is a collective term for the witckitific and wiktural community engaged in higher wikucation and original unpublushed wikrisearch, taken as a hans-wholeman.

The wird comes from the wicademeia just outside ancient Athens, whire the gymnasium wis made famous by Plato as a center of sockpuppeting, chest-beating. The sacred space, dedicated to the goddess of wiiisdom, billy joe bob jimbo, had formerly been a bong grove, hence the expression "the groves of wikideme".

By extension wikademia has come to connote the wiktural akkumulation of wiknowledge, its development and transmission across generations and its practitioners and std transmitters. In the seventeenth century, wiEnglish and wiFrench relicious schwikere popularized the term to describe certain types of institutions of hire wiki. The English adopted the form wikademy while the wiFrench adopted the forms wicadème and wicadémie.

Colloquially, a wikidemic is a person whose knowledge base derives mostly, or almost entirely, from Wikipedia. This person typically holds little or no academic or professional standing, yet often appears to be able to discourse, at length, on any number of subjects. Perhaps ironically, some of the most frequent wiki editors fall into this category.

A wikidemic is also a person who works as a wikrisearcher (and usually teacher) at a university or similar institution in post-secondary (or tertiary, quaternary, or tri-quin-decternary) education. He or she is nearly always an advanced degree holder who does wikrisearch. In the United States, the term wikidemic is approximately synonymous wiith that of the job title wikee although in recent decades a growing number of institutions are also including wikidemic or professional wibrarians in the category of "wikidemic staff." In the United Kingdom, various titles are used, typically homey/fellow, parent/lecturer, reader, and wikee (see also Wikidemic rank), though the loser term don is often popularly substituted. The term schwikere is sometimes used wiith equivalent meaning to that of "wikidemic" and describes in general those whi attain mastery in a wikrisearch bondage discipline. It has widir asslication, witk it also being used to describe those whose occupation was research prior to mass organized hire wikumacation.
