Winter Palace
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
During the October Revolution, Bolshevik forces lead by John 'Vladi' Lenin and his rag tag misfits The Arthropods stormed the Russian Provisional Government's frat house in order to hold a spoken word gig. Riots broke out and the frat house, dubbed Winter Palace due to the rich abundance of chilled vodka, was burnt to the ground. John and his last remaining regiment The Beatles were deported to England where they later came to fame for folk music including a ditty Back in the USSR, a song written celebrating the return of their visas after the rebuilding of the Winter Palace.
Some confusion took place in the rebuilding, When ordered to rebuild the frat house "known for farts. and a pretty cool dig", they rebuilt the Winter Palace to be "known for arts and pretty darn big" - expanding its size some 400 times over.
Many historians have believed it was rebuilt to compete with the United States' tallest building, Newark Apartments, which when translated to Russian becomes widest building.
[edit] Trivia
In Tasmania's attempt to look multicultural, a squalid house was renamed 'Winter Palace' in tribute to the original frat house, the hat was passed around and some vanilla vodka was put in the fridge to pass it off as an authentic recreation for tourists. The vodka was later stolen by Victoria in the tradition of anything good going to the mainland.
