Woodstock 1999
From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia.
Possibly the most successful Woodstock to date. Woodstock 1999 was the image of Peace and Love that had originally been invisioned by its creator, Gatsby. This Woodstock showed what love and peace were capable of (unlike the Woodstock of 1969 that was plagued with violence, looting and riots because Axl Rose didn't give good free love).
[edit] Why Woodstock 1999 was so successful
Affordability, One of the main points of its success was the cheap cost of the tickets, the food there was also reasonably priced (according to one of the statements provided by Satan). You were also freely able to bring your own food and drink inside the venue and even leave the venue to bring in vast quantities of food (this lead to a mini black market being established in the venue, making even more popular). However, some people took advantage of this "black market". Dunkin' Donuts started having turf wars with Krispy Kreme which resulted in napalm style use of donut glaze. It should be noted that you could use your soul for credit with no interest providing you pretended to enjoy the 'festivities'
Security, Security was hightened at 1999's event. This was due to the riots of the 1969 Woodstock. There was hightened security around the food stalls, portaloos, and more importantly, the drinking fountains. The public drinking fountains were protected by the Mud People, who volunteered to guard the fountains by making sure the fountains were not vandalised or stolen (as in 1969), if they feel threatened (or feel like being threatening) will throw mud at the person wishing to access water. Eventually, security started to trust the crowd so much, they no longer felt that they were needed and promptly blended in with the crowd.
Atmosphere, The 1999 Woodstock was not only accompanied by good music, but a great environment. Most of the day was accompanied by a balmy 22 C temperature. This was the perfect temperature for the Love and Peace of its 250 000 attendees and their shag'n wagons (also known in Australia as Sandman's). Woodstock was not only enjoyed by the people who attended it, but by the general public because of MTV's quality coverage of the event (MTV's coverage of the 1969 Woodstock had to be cut short due to violent riots of the third kind). Un-like the 1969 event, there was no hippies involved, so there were quite a few less babies being born later in the year.
[edit] Scenes of Woodstock 1969
There were many contributing factors to the failure of Woodstock 1969. To start it off, the high ticket prices. One 3 day pass cost around $150 (leading to much vandalism and graffiti). Food and drink prices were outrageous, something around $25 for one portion of gruel. Water was scarce in the 40 C heat of the summer (even though drinking fountains were there, they were guarded by so called Clay People who would throw clay at anybody wishing to access water). Most of the portaloos, drinking fountains and ATM's were looted or stolen and set on fire or used for residence at the 3 day event.
