how much do you get paid? will you hire me?

A wiki is a site designed using MediaWiki so that almost anyone can edit most pages to contribute.  Uncyclopedia was designed in a format to parody Wikipedia. Wikipedia.com is probably the largest, oldest, and best known of any wiki.

None of us actually get paid anything to run the sites. This is why we ask for donations.  We are all volunteers.  Sister site admins are voted into their positions by fellow admins or registered site editors.

Why was my account restricted?

Why was my account restricted?

Why was my account restricted?

There are a number of reasons that administrators "ban" or restrict accounts. The most common one is that you were doing something that was unhelpful, and did not stop when you were asked to stop.   Editing is a privilege, not a right. Wiki vandals and spam bots will be banned.

A less common reason is what is known as a "joke ban". You will not usually be joke banned unless you are already an autoconfirmed user who has been active for a minimum of 6 months or are already an administrator with the ability to unban yourself. (If the latter, consider it a part of initiation.)  Joke bans usually last less than 24 hours. If you are still uncertain why you were banned,  please read the Beginner's Guide, which details the rights and responsibilities of editors. Bans may be appealed on Discord or by leaving a message on the talk page of the administrator who issued your editing ban.

I was banned, now what?

Why was my account restricted?

Why was my account restricted?

You have a few options. You may

A) Wait out your editing ban, and read articles instead of changing or adding them.

B) Appeal your ban or apologize and request a reduction of your ban length.

C) Make things worse for yourself by making a sockpuppet or several. This will only result in those socks being banned, and an even longer or indefinite ban for you.

D) If you are already an administrator, unban yourself, then send a friendly note to the person who banned you.  If you are experienced enough to be voted or appointed administrator, this should not be difficult.

If you are not an administrator or bureaucrat, you cannot directly ban them. But if you sincerely believe they have earned a ban, report them on Ban Patrol and/ or leave a message on any Active Administrator's page. If absolutely nothing happens and you do not receive a response in 24 hours, leave a message on another Active Administrator's page.

Are you a femboy?

Are you a femboy?

I want to ban someone else

Nope, I am female. I was born that way, baby. Yes, there are girls on the internet. Am I a girl? I am over 18, so I am too old to be called a "girl". I am a woman, or a gal.

Or, if you really feel like it, you could call me a "hag" if you are under 20, since I am now over 50. But if you are OVER 20, you really should know better.  Most of the time lately, I have been feeling haggard anyways. Not Hagrid, haggard. Though I would not mind meeting some of the Harry Potter characters or actors myself.

Are my donations tax deductible?

Not at this time, though we are working on this.  Considerable paperwork is required to license and register as a non-profit, file annual nonprofit returns (form 990 for reference), and maintain nonprofit status.  All of this requires money. US 501c3 nonprofit requirements regarding websites like Uncyclopedia are that they must be organized for literary or educational purposes, or for general community benefit (outside the organization).

Would you sponsor or promote my product?

No. We do not accept paid nor unpaid promotions. However, you may write a satire article about your product, so long as it is FUNNY to a wide audience. Articles that do not meet the humor criteria will be removed.

A word to the wise: Your bot spam may be deleted on sight, or rewritten to make fun of your product, at our discretion.

Next time, try Google ads instead.

Why was my article removed?

Would you sponsor or promote my product?

Why was my article removed?

We have two general procedures for removal of articles. The first is QVFD: articles that are typically deleted on sight. Any one-liners that are not in the Un-Dictionary namespace are in this category. Obvious spambot created articles for SEO purposes are also in this category. A more detailed description of articles that are removed on sight can be found by searching QVFD on that site.  If you believe an error was made, please contact an active administrator. (A quick search for UN:AA will give you this info.)

VFD stands for "Votes for Deletion". If the community votes to delete an article, even if it has been on the site for over a year, it may be deleted.
