Uncyclopedia is a wiki designed for amateur humor writers. We even have a guide to humor writing, with the tongue-in-cheek name of "How to be Funny and Not Just Stupid". By stupid, we mean unfunny jokes. Nobody likes to be told their jokes are unfunny, but without constructive criticism, it is impossible to learn and grow. We can help you learn how to write humorously, in a format designed to parody Wikipedia articles. Communication is essential in this process.
As a humor writing wiki, en.uncyclopedia.co features:
*A Discord channel to chat in real time
*A Facebook page
*An external link to Uncyclopedia merchandise (sometimes).
*Content designed for readers over age 16. Parental permission may be required in some countries.
This site includes NSFW content, but probably nothing that has not already been discussed on a playground, perhaps even one with equipment made by a major toy manufacturer.
en.uncyclopedia.co is not affiliated with uncyclopedia.com - in fact they are not speaking to each other.
By the way, they also dislike the term "fork", even though they left Wikia/Fandom sooner than the other site. They hate being boxed up with the rest of the cutlery, and pride themselves on thinking "out of the box".
Also known as the spoon, uncyclopedia.com is a humor-writing wiki that features:
*Designed for intermediate humor writers. Ability to write single-page essays is strongly recommended.
*The satire writing of "Spike", "Romartus", and other featured writers.
*Longer satire articles and articles "designed for the general reader".
Uncyclopedia.com is not affiliated with en.uncyclopedia.co - in fact they are not speaking to each other. Uncyclopedia.com frequently refers to themselves as "the spoon", and has no qualms about the term. They scooped up their content when they left Fandom.
Since anyone (excepting if they have been blocked or banned from the sites) can edit most pages on these wikis, sometimes articles of low quality or insensitive or triggering content may appear on the wikis. You can bring these articles to the attention of the admins if you find them by either listing them on Quick Votes For Deletion or Votes For Deletion. (Type QVFD or VFD into the search bar on the wiki.) If you see one editor making particularly offensive articles, especially in a short period of time, cyberbullying or doxing anyone, or spamming the wiki with adverts, please contact an admin as soon as possible. We also have a Ban Patrol where offenders can be listed. The admins will review the contributions of editors listed on Ban Patrol and make the determination.
Every week, a new featured article is updated on the Main Page of the wikis. If you do not see a featured article on the Main Page, the featured article is in voting. The voting page for each site is located by typing VFH (Votes for Highlight) into the search bar at the top of the wiki. Past features can also be found listed by year, by typing UN:BEST (Best of Uncyclopedia) into the search bar on the wiki.
We rely entirely on donations to keep the sites going. Please donate here or on the site of your choice. Donations to uncyclopedia.org will pay for the domain and web-builder services, unless specified otherwise. Should those costs be covered by donations, the remainder will be distributed between the other sites. We will never have any video ads, banner ads, or SEO spambots on our site posting links to their store, if we have any choice in the matter. We automatically delete bot-created spam links and kick spambots, with bots of our own.
In fact, even if the bots don't catch something within one minute, spammers may be made fun of, particularly if they create new articles and give us ideas to satirize their product or service. So don't spam the sites.
If you WANT your product satirized for publicity, please talk to the admins about running a contest. Contests are always free to enter and are usually held seasonally near holidays such as Thanksgiving.
